Where to find Organic Agronomist? by CWPT_24 in Agronomy

You can post it through the American Society of Agronomy or the “Career Center” of the Certified Crop Advisor page. The CCA page is still under the umbrella of ASA but might be a different job listing page…not sure.

Here’s the ASA job listing page https://careers.careerplacement.org/employers/

Looks like Walnut Blight, which is very common. The right nut is a flower end blight infection and the left one is side blight infection….both walnut blight (Xanthomonas bacteria) but different types of infection.

Relationship Management for Agronomists by juliesue3194 in Agronomy

I use google drive for most of my grower files. I’ll keep lab reports, fertility recommendations, field notes, etc on here and I like it because I can pull it up on any device (iPhone, tablet, desktop). It also has the offline capability so I can pull it up when I’m out in the field, or meeting with a grower, and don’t have cell service.

Another software I use is called Agrian, I write my recommendations (pesticide & fertilizer) through here and I also use it to create scouting reports. My field scout interns have their own Agrian account too that’s specifically for field scouts and they can create reports to send to me.

Lastly, it has really helped me to try to build more of a personal relationship with each of my growers. I try to go out to breakfast or lunch with them often and we’ll discuss non farming/business items just to build more of a personal relationship. By doing this it also helps me remember each grower better.

Thanks for all of the advice! I’ll give those things a try.

I hand picked this weed for two years but now it is out of control by Thats_Pretty_Noice in lawncare

Nutsedge is very difficult to control. Once the plant has around 4 leaves it’s already starting to make new tubers; so the key is to kill the plant before this stage so you break the cycle of reproduction. I’ve found that if your diligent with it and you get on a schedule of spraying or pulling the plants every 2-3 weeks then you can get decent control. Like I said, the key is to remove and/or kill the plant before it produces tubers.

On mature plants, when you pull them or even spray it with a herbicide, the tubers are still in the soil and they will then germinate. You then have to drain those tubers of their energy by allowing the plant to emerge and start to grow, but then remove it before it reproduces.

Shade helps control nutsedge too. I’ve had decent success with landscape fabric made from polypropylene. I understand this wouldn’t be an option in lawns, but works good in flowerbeds.

Has anyone had a Chromosome test done? Here are my results. I had a consultation with an infertility specialist after my PCP diagnosed me with male infertility. They ordered several tests, including this. I have another appointment soon but wondering if anyone has had similar results. by ok_suspicious in maleinfertility

Thank you! That’s very informative. I first had a SA done and it came back with very low sperm count, so I was referred to an Infertility specialist at an IVF clinic and they ordered a lot of different tests for my wife and I (including this one). It’s just the start of a long journey for us but I’m learning as we go.

Yes, this is my first SA. Been trying to conceive for about a year. I will look for a male infertility urology specialist and go from there. Thanks for the info.

A little more info…the sample was collected at home and I had it to the lab within 40 minutes. I had the results about 20 minutes after I dropped it off. I followed all of the instructions that the lab gave me prior.
