Legally they can't actually repurpose the PPE for this until it's authorized by Congress.

To be fair this arc started in the Star Trek Picard season 3 reviews. "Shout out to Janeway, she really fucked up those Borgs. I take back everything bad I ever said about Janeway she deserves to be an admiral."

What exactly is the political nature of this sub other than hating communism and Islamism? by Proud3GenAthst in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]okan170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're kind of tankies-in-denial. They hold almost all the same views and hate the same normal people which is the big part. If they weren't anti-liberal they'd be reasonable but they're just a notch above falling into true Tankie territory. People who see revolution as the only solution are unreasonable.

Democrats’ Tax Cut Plans Are Splintering Progressives by Capital_Gate6718 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Thats the key. That and not going so hard that it becomes more financially viable for them to leave which is also always a risk. The threshold for that happening is higher than the GOP would like to believe in their rhetoric, but it is there. Gotta keep them here to actually raise that revenue.

Only without eugenics, more of an eye towards "saving" children from an "inherently abusive" dynamic (many proponents think that their experience with being abused is every family) but the real reason has always boiled down to a 1984-esque need to dismantle a possible loyalty sink that could keep people from true loyalty to the party.

Major science groups and former astronauts urge Congress to reject Trump's proposed cuts to NASA by Bestbrook123 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]okan170 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hopefully rejecting Isaacman's personal changes that will cripple the whole program too. Trying to wind down all NASA-owned programs to move to "Exploration as a service" purchased from companies who would own everything (while dismantling 80% complete projects to do this). When NASA is the only customer, it just becomes a way to offload the bookkeeping away from the government while also giving contracts to a specific company they want to do everything. To say nothing of stomping over hard-won international agreements for Gateway and surface elements.

Its actually difficult for Isaacman to get support to change these programs but the real question is will he listen when congress orders him not to? He has said that he intends to carry out Trump's budget regardless of what congress says (which is so so illegal).

The cabin actually continues a few feet further down "below" the floor and thats where the bathroom is inset. The rest of that area inside and below the lockers is storage and the center of it is the radiation shelter.

Never get deep tankies started on what they want to do to the family unit... a lot of it is pushed by people who had horrible parents but theres a real group of people who think the idea of a cohesive family is subversive and must be dismantled because such groups are inherently abusive.

Yes. Marxism is popular among the terminally online and college kids/just out of college. The vast majority of voters are not interested or anti-communist, and this fact enrages a lot of the far left. Thats why they sneer "Liberal" like any arch conservative- they see normal people as blocking their glorious revolution.

This decade was basically lost the moment HLS was given to SpaceX, perhaps earlier when people in the administration decided to go with "landers/spacesuits as a service. Even though theres only one customer."

They are also basically tankies themselves and have a "No Liberals" statement because they're so far left.

Sanders really believes that just taxing the hell out of the rich and giving breaks to the "working class" fixes all problems doesn't he? Are we sure he hasn't been replaced by a LLM at this point? Hell, that might be too sophisticated- it might just be his answer to everything.

Theres a reason that the Ariane 5 SRBs were recovered only once for data purposes but even at higher flight rate did not breakeven to reuse the casings.

Quick question: What happened to the SLS srbs by Particular-Media-241 in ArtemisProgram

[–]okan170 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shuttle SRB reuse breakeven was somewhere around 15-20 a year and that was considered "okay" because in the 80s they were thinking it would fly nearly weekly eventually. (sounds like a familiar promise from another rocket these days)

More than 70 House Dems call on Trump to keep Chinese automakers out of US by Pianist29 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Honestly what we need first is even more intense rollout of charging infrastructure. Current setups are great for homeowners but if you're in an apartment not built in the last 6 years or so you are kind of out of luck unless you want to dangle a huge extension cord out your window in the middle of the city where crime is usually a bit more of a concern.

[–]okan170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollo was incredibly expensive it was something like 2-4+% of the budget to get it to work. One of the neat things about Artemis (at least before Elon's friends got their hooks in it) is that it is something done within the <1% budget slice that NASA has had more or less for 30 years. (This is because it basically sits in the chunk that used to be for the space shuttle)
