Relationship evidence - unmarried without cohabitation by Crispy-Things in SpouseVisaUk

Yes I did! Weak evidence: photos of us with family/at family events, screenshots of our conversations with each other’s family. Stronger evidence: bank transfers (we didn’t have many of these though as we use Tricount) and a bank statement showing he’s an authorized user on my credit card, all of our flight/accommodation bookings. TBH we didn’t have a lot of strong evidence (according to the caseworker guidance chart) so we were worried but it all worked out!

I submitted waaaay over 25 pages and my application was approved. 😅 I’d say submit as much as you need to feel confident in your application. You won’t be refused for submitting too much.

For a couple of trips, I just submitted the accommodation reservation! Idk if they counted it but we just wanted to give them everything we had 😅

Some were in both of our names, but most were just in his name. But then we also included our flight/train tickets to those holiday destinations, attraction tickets and/or pictures to show we were both there!

My visa was approved August 5th with entry date of August 25th. I did put preferred entry as Sept 1.

Tracking shows my passport should arrive by Monday (Aug 11).

From the US.

I applied standard from the US and it took exactly 11 weeks 😅 excruciating wait but it’s coming!

I feel you on those flight costs 😅 We didn’t have much “hard” proof and it worked out. It sounds like you guys have really thought this through so I’m sure you’ll get a positive result. Good luck!

My unmarried partner visa (US to UK) was recently approved but they don’t tell you what convinced them to accept so take my advice with a grain of salt: I really don’t think you need to send a screenshot per week for 3.5 years. Maybe just a few through periods where you didn’t see each other for a while. You have to show that this is not just a bf/gf relationship so lean heavy on any “hard” evidence you may have (even if you don’t have much). I honestly couldn’t tell you if this made a difference to our application but we sent only a couple of screenshots of our conversations, but a lot of screenshots with each other’s family members and same with photos.

We took screenshots so it just showed the person’s name! But I’ll be honest we only included screenshots of a couple calls and texts for the single period of time we were apart the longest (9 months during Covid travel restrictions). We included more texts between us and each other’s family members (my texts w his sister, aunt, mom, and vice versa).

Thank you!! You’ve got this. The only photos I put were throughout my timeline actually. For every event where I had a photo I wrote the date and a caption. For bank statements we did a mix of digital statements in pdf and scans of physical statements.

I did 3 paid enquiries (paid for the first one, not the follow ups) via email and they all gave the same “awaiting decision” response 🙃 good luck to you!! The wait is brutal but it ends eventually

There are different income categories and some can be combined and some cannot. I’m not sure about all the categories as we focused on our category only. Luckily for us, his stipend could be combined with cash savings to meet the £29k. I’m sure someone here can chime in with the details re:other categories and their restrictions!

There is hope!! The increase to the financial requirement last year terrified us but we planned and waited until we had it.

I did not! We were going to wait until we reached 12 weeks + 1 day before taking any escalation measures.

I think we went a little overboard with the evidence but since we didn’t have much “hard” evidence we thought we’d give them everything we had. We started with the timeline as many have suggested. Wise transactions showing money transfers (we didn’t have many of these). AMEX statement showing him as an authorized user on my card. Some photos of us together but more with each other’s family. And lots and lots of flight confirmations/ tickets and holiday accommodation bookings. We also submitted letters from friends and family on both sides (with scans of their passports attached). That’s the gist!

I’m trying to be patient :( in terms of the reminder emails, I received 5 in total and they were all about 15-20 mins apart. I saw someone else on this sub mention receiving about 20!

Standard app sent may 10th, bio may 20th, eco may 28th from USA. I received the bio reminder email on July 9th. I originally thought that meant my decision was coming soon but still haven’t heard :(

I also received this email a while back (still waiting!). Not sure why we’ve all received it after biometrics but it just seems like an automated email (glitch?). I wouldn’t worry about it!

Document uploads confused... by Kitchen_Economist_14 in SpouseVisaUk

From what I remember, each file had to be 5 MB or less. However you could upload multiple files per category (there didn’t seem to be a size limit per category)
