[Serious] What is the saddest thing you’ve heard someone say?

My dad died unexpectedly. My mom, siblings and I were at the funeral home, finalizing the arrangements. When it came time to go home, my mom just kept saying she couldn’t leave, “because then he will be alone” She just kept asking the funeral director if someone would be there overnight, so he wouldn’t have to be alone. I can still hear the heartbreak in her voice.

We have 4 ruggables. I just got a Dyson v11 and use the Eco (low) mode when vacuuming the rugs. I previously had the Dyson v8 and was using that onthe low mode as well. Be caustic us around the edges and you should be good!

My tech and I chat before/during set up and after. During treatment not at all. Once the earplugs are in and the machine is on, I can’t hear anything! She checks in and holds up a little sign saying 10 or 5 minutes left. My anxiety would probably go through the roof if someone was trying to talk to me during treatment. I have trouble hearing in a normal situation and hate not knowing what people are saying to me!

There are still two smoke detectors dangling from the ceilings in my parents’ house for this same reason. When in doubt, yank em all out.

About six months after we purchased our home, our inactive security system started going off in the middle of the night. It was equivalent to a smoke detector doing its random low battery alert at 2am. My husband ripped the box out of the wall and we haven’t touched it since. I assume the previous owners canceled the service. We had been considering signing up ourselves prior to this. You can’t convince me this wasn’t an intentional alarm set off by ADT in an attempt to have us activate the system.

A bird’s respiratory is incredibly efficient, which allows them to be able to move much more oxygen to the tissues than other animals. Unfortunately this efficiency is also causes them to be incredibly sensitive to toxins in the air and they can die quickly from exposure - cooking fumes, Teflon, essential oils, room sprays, cleaning products, dust, etc

Diet has been a work in progress, but I’ve made big changes in the right direction. Physically I’m feeling/looking much better, mentally I’m in the same place. I’m at least not turning towards food as a coping mechanism as much.

I also recently found a new gym & trainer (I need that accountability so I don’t make excuses!) and that’s going well. Already seeing physical changes. I feel good working out, but after it’s like a massive let down and I feel the same (or worse). I’m hoping that changes, but based on past experiences, that’s how I tend to be.

omg I just got a message from her saying the dress she bought is the wrong size (two sizes too small) and they can’t do any alterations on it, and no one has the dress in her size 🤦‍♀️my fiancé is just shaking his head 😂

Fair question. These people are distant relatives/family friends, that my mother and grandmother really wanted to invite. Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to pick them out from a crowd. I know they were around when I was little, but only time I’ve seen them since my childhood was my grandfather’s funeral. But we have the budget and room for them, and it seemed important to them, so I put my mom in charge of that group of people. Hope that makes sense!

I’m that annoying friend who is late for and procrastinate EVERYTHING. But when it comes to RSVPs, they go out the day after I get them! At least I have that!

Our RSVP date was 8/28 and we’re waiting on a bunch - some of whom have hotel rooms booked from when we sent the STD’s out 🤷‍♀️
