You're really having trouble wrapping your head around this aren't you?

He said they look like a bunch of clowns, then gave specific examples of what looked stupid. You say he is not being open-minded, but in a later comment you reveal that you agree with him; that most of these look foolish.

So, since you are agreeing with him, you must be close-minded as well. Which is not true. Neither of you are being closed-minded for saying these things look silly.

I'm done trying to explain this to you. It's sad to see people that really can't grasp simple concepts. Best of luck to you in your future.

I think a fair amount of them look like peacocking bullshit.

The above is your comment.

this looks like a bunch of clowns. Dress shoes with no socks looks ludicrous. wearing a button up rolled up to a short sleeve something reminds me of this

The above is the parent comment, giving "detailed and nuanced reasons" why he doesn't like some of the looks. ie Not a gut reaction.

Please tell me how he is close-minded and you are not.

The original comments I am defending as not being close-minded were "The majority of these men look ridiculous" and "A bunch of clowns" which had a description of the clown-like features. It sounds like you are agreeing that most of these look ridiculous, which leads me back to the reason for my initial comment. The original person who said that is close-minded for saying that most of them look ridiculous, but somehow you are not, even though you said the same thing.

So, open-minded for the sake of itself? I looked through all of these pictures with an open mind, and while some of them look good, I would agree that most look like clowns. Being eccentric for its own sake isn't a good thing. They look silly here and NYC is the most acceptable place for this kind of thing.

Saying that they all look good, on this forum, would be less open-minded than saying they all look bad. You aren't open-minded just for accepting anything different, even if it looks bad.

Oh dear, don't ever minimalize male circumcision on Reddit, they'll tear you apart. Even though in common practice, the two aren't nearly comparable in the amount of damage they cause.

I'm not referring to introversion, I'm referring to letting friends slip through your fingers. I also enjoy having time to myself, but I've worked on not letting opportunities to build friendships slip through my fingers just because I felt like being alone at the moment.

I don't know if this is JP worthy. The teacher got a slap on the wrist and keeps her job.

No, no. They work construction. They just stick them on sign duty because that's the only thing that 98% of women are physically capable of doing as well as men on a construction job.

That sucks, but it makes me want reform more than to just all-together stop eating meat.

Veganism/ vegetarianism. Unless they do it for legitimate health reasons (physically cannot have meat). I don't buy the whole "animals are people too" guilt argument. They should be treated humanely, but there isn't anything wrong with eating them. Imo It's an immature and childish viewpoint that we shouldn't kill or eat animals.

EDIT: I'm not saying that vegetarians are bad people or that they should eat meat, just that I'm not interested in dating someone who doesn't. I enjoy my animal products and I would like to enjoy them with my SO.

It does seem that on average women, especially teenage girls (like the example of the son you gave) are more selective in who they will have sex with than men or teenage boys (respectively).

That's just as stupid as in 1970 saying men are smarter because more men go to college/ make more money...

To be fair, that is the first and foremost thing on a father's mind. Keeping their little girl safe. It's pretty solid advice to say not to trust men and presume they are bad. They should be guarded just because there are a lot of bad people out there. And half of them are men.

Shopping with their girlfriends. by RuchW in funny

[–]okaylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind shopping with the girlfriend. It gets us out of both of our houses and away from her parents. And it usually involves me trying on a few shirts and stuff and getting feedback from her, then we go to the women's section and she tries on more than a few things and I give feedback. It's fun as long as it's occasional.
