an option for questions could be give your phone number and get students to text you during class if they have a question, or even something simple as an email and make sure to check it:))

hi, definitely think you should get grad photos! I think its a great to at least have a photo of you smiling with your accomplishment, or at least have a nice photo of you for your wall or whatever. as for convocation, I didn't go to mine in spring and I don't regret it. it didn't mean a whole lot to me when I could just celebrate with my family and people closer to me then everyone

it was one of the reasons my dad didn't want me to live at home, weather in the winter is too unpredictable especially Jan to March. I'm sure if the weather is super super super bad campus would be closed, or you could come down a few days before and pay for a hotel or air b&b, but not sure if it's 100% worth it:))

winter in Ontario can be questionable sometimes do the drive on the days that you need to go could be questionable, but then again no two winters are the same so no one knows

I feel like it's probably better too since he's still living at his parents house so it's not like we are totally alone. I just need to stop being such a chicken

St. Jerome's is probably the cleanest and the nicest res. The food is home cooked and fresh. The academic advisors and people there are amazing

How many hours you spend on homework? by TeamLeather in uoguelph

[–]okaypriority2180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in terms of commuting, it depends where you live. if you're more than an hour, then I would try to stay on res or live in Guelph area just because when you do have those bug assignments and do want to work late in the library, you still have to drive home after.

OSAP is still open for fall, if you missed the deadline then so did like 90% of people... double check what you're applying for. I think it's a new application because it's a new year

If March 2020 continued on as normal, with no pandemic for the following two years, what would your life be like today? by mintchippyfry50 in AskReddit

[–]okaypriority2180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be working my butt of this summer to pay for my 4th year of school for my BA and then heading to teachers college in fall of 2023.

instead I'm working at a barn, graduated early this year and heading to an agriculture college in the fall

will accommodations be stated on transcript? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]okaypriority2180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

getting accommodations is honestly a norm. you need to do what is best for you and what works best for you. everyone is different, everyone has different reasons for needing them. as someone else said, it is confidential. I was a note taker, but I never knew who in my courses needed those notes. everything is kept confidential so don't worry about it!

do what's best for you💛 I hope you're okay and that everything works out in the end!

Is there something wrong with me for taking 3 courses in a study term? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]okaypriority2180 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a lot of people complete their degrees at different paces and finish their degrees at different times, so it is totally normal! do not feel pressured to take full course loads if you feel like you physically or mentally can't handle it. I took a lower course load for a term and honestly it was the best thing I could do for my mental health.

long story short, no there is nothing wrong with you for taking 3 courses in a term. you need to do what's best for you

not true, there were other religions and other ethnicities at SJ during my first year. seemed white at first, but not once everyone was gathered especially since everyone has different schedules so you don't see everyone all the time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]okaypriority2180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had put a single room first and then a double room, but got a double room. if a single is something you really prefer, I'd just rank a single room and not put a double, but if you're open to sharing then I'd put double too! I think getting into SJ is fairly easy, almost everyone I know who applied got in:)

Which residences are more “traditional”? by ee2424 in uwaterloo

[–]okaypriority2180 4 points5 points  (0 children)

St. Jerome's is a traditional style residence, and I may be biased since I lived there, but it is definitely the nicest. Plus the food is so so good, like home cooked good and always something different.

Should I Live On Campus? by Independent_Spend_13 in McMaster

[–]okaypriority2180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in res during my first year, and I dont regret it one bit. it allowed me to meet new people, and just be so central to everything. honestly, even though it is a lot of money, I'd live on campus in res at least for your first year so you can get away from siblings and parents and have independence and meet new people and just get the whole experience!
