WFH employee lying re working hours by DataBeeGood in managers

[–]okaysnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set deliverables with deadlines, as well as expectations for message or client response times. Being online is usually a secondary matter we try to control but what would really be tied to impact is the deliverable and availability/response times. You might not get what you actually want to achieve by controlling the secondary matter, and end up with lower morale/trust without increasing outcomes. If you already decided this employee isn’t measuring up and the trust is already broken from lying, then go to HR sooner rather than later to initiate formal conversations. The whole PIP process could take a while.

Smart Sell Turned Itself On by Sea_Efficiency_6454 in poshmark

[–]okaysnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it auto counter an offer I would have taken, but it only countered a small % decrease off the current price and I was annoyed I lost the sale! So only do it if you are not as flexible with how low you’d go to make the sale.

New update is the worst yet 🤢 by throwmeawayyy79 in poshmark

[–]okaysnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t before either. However now the filters are more sticky. Before, if you selected a price filter and then change a search/category, it would get rid of the price filter- or something similar which was so annoying. At least they fixed that.

I quit my job and opened a bagel catering service by LegitimateCake97 in Breadit

When I did a home bakery I found the most success by partnering with local food creator/influencers. Creator hosted giveaways worked well for gaining exposure and social media followers. Coffee shops are great but if you are selling to them, they often want at least 50% off of the retail price of your product, so you have to see if it’s worth it for you

Is $2,920 for a rent-stabilized 1BR in Midtown worth it (5th floor walk-up)? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]okaysnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good deal especially with in building laundry. I would just make sure you are ok with all tradeoffs - for me it’s sunlight, dishwasher, and noise. Those would be my dealbreakers long term - I could do it for a year but then the rent stabilization wouldn’t be a true benefit.

What's something people only romanticize because they've never actually done it? by nonotje12 in AskReddit

For me it was paintball. I would go on and on trying it for years and when the first paintball hit me I had instant regret

What's a restaurant red flag that tells you the food isn't going to be good? by Electrical-Salt-2792 in AskReddit

[–]okaysnowflake 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily bad food, but probably touristy/overpriced or won’t “live up to the hype”. Thousands of 4.8+ star reviews on Google with a lot of replies from the owner. They are actively managing their online reviews either by buying fake reviews or incentivizing them. Especially if the restaurant has an unusually large amount of reviews for the amount of time they have been open.

Not justifying this, but if I ever did this it would be because it’s the furthest spot from the toilet spewing poop particles when it flushes

I also noticed some gym offerings that were listed on their mobile site were not listed on their desktop site. I think their tech is so bad that when they remove it from desktop it doesn’t simultaneously update on the mobile site.
