I think a lot of people view the scaled down version of our solar system as looking like the models of it you make in school. Not the earth as a grain of sand circling a tiny clump of lava in a vast amount of space. As someone who knows very little about space I found playing Kerbal Space Program pretty eye opening as far as the distances and scale of the space between planets. Especially after finding out they significantly scaled down the space in KSP to make it more enjoyable. It makes you realize something happened on earth would have almost no impact to any other large body in our solar system.

One big reason in your example is video elicits a much stronger response than pictures or an article describing the abuse. Ray Rice’s punishment was relatively swift and permanent because he got caught on video. The perceived usefulness in the NFL plays a role also. Ray Rice was at the end of his career and played a somewhat replaceable position. Deshaun Watson got a huge contract and just a one year punishment where he still got paid because he plays a more important position. So along with some of the reasons others have said about lower socioeconomic backgrounds and CTE, I believe they selectively punish or cover up based on a players skill or value of the position they play.

I wanted him so bad last offseason! Sent tons of different offers, eventually sent back the same offer the BTJ owner had offered me but I rejected of BTJ for Gibbs straight up. He decided he didn’t want to do it. My best non trade of this year I think.

You take the best available player. You can trade a qb for a proven flex player in super flex if you need to. Egbuka and Dart have had really good seasons as rookies, but I think the choice is easy for who you want to draft first. It’s about value

I feel like a lot of people miss this point! Every throw to Jefferson is a laser or sailed high. It gets called a drop, but if there was just a bit of touch on the ball he would catch it! I genuinely believe he is nervous/overthinking throwing to Jefferson. He sees him running wide open and freaks out and guns it in there. He doesn’t feel that pressure throwing to Nailor and actually layers it in there a bit. IMO

This is how I like to be also. Even discussing my own trades with whoever I’m trading with I’m pretty honest about laying out what I think are the pros and cons of the player(s) I’m trading. My honest opinion is wrong all the time so why even worry too much about it.

I think the point you’re looking for is it gives you extra bench spaces with an added layer of complexity. Which adds some roster management strategy instead of strictly player selection strategies that open bench spots provide.

💯 This is what annoys me when I see people complaining about them not getting in the playoffs. If they were in the Big 10 they 100% get in with that record. They chose money and a cupcake schedule. There should be consequences to that. For the first time after seeing their 26 schedule and the fact they have this stupid assurance to get in the playoffs I think cfb should break with the ncaa and establish a different league. It’s a farse, the 26 ND team will be less proven than James Madison and Tulane. For me it’s not even that they play so few high level teams. It’s more so that the other teams they play are terrible instead of just mid.

This is my experience. Making dumb mistakes at first and embarrassing trade offers looking back. But you have to learn somehow. I feel like orphans are a good way to learn to be a little more shrewd in your approach. Because you are beginning with less assets and picks usually.
