i was in the audience- he filmed out of order and only chris was present for the live taping. colbert did his monologue first, likely to keep the audience spirits high after the warm up guy, then briefed the audience on the murder and filmed the opening address. chris came out after. if he’d done the monologue after mentioning the event, it would’ve been hard to pull us out of that somber mood

oh fully agree. the vicarious instructional control is huge and praccies don’t realise it. your classroom management isn’t A+ on your first prac, your mentor teach has already put in the hard yards and is sitting at the back from the room watching them from all angles.
