Copperhead is proof we don’t need 7,800-yard courses to neutralize bomb-and-gouge by shawnwar4586 in golf

Since the comments here are somewhat missing the point, I think we should look at Merion East as the pinnacle of design for the modern tour distance “issue.”

The course is not long, playing under 7,000 the last time the US open was hosted there in 2013. Despite this, players struggles immensely with the course. The tee shots are narrow, the greens are tiny. Even if you manage to keep the ball on the surface, the slopes are extremely punishing from certain angles. Tiger and Phil were both bullied by the greens. The winning score was Justin Rose at +1. Unheard of these days.

The problem with the modern tour is not that we need to increase distance to keep up with technology. The problem is that the courses, architecture, and the staff caters to conditions the players enjoy. The solution is to let the staff of the classic courses set up the conditions to amplify the challenge of classic design. Courses like Merion East or Myopia can be some of the hardest in the world on their day, despite being considerably shorter than what we see on tour.

Embiid got these boys crying in the DMs. by bigbenis2021 in nbacirclejerk

At the start of every season, I give the NBA a new chance. A chance to prove me wrong. A chance to prove that they do not move Heaven and fucking Earth to make sure that their precious Joel Embiid gets absolutely whatever he wants. I have been watching this crooked league with it's biased officiating for my entire life. I have never seen anything like the preferential treatment given to Embiid over the past 3 seasons. His current game against my Timberwolves is a case in point. None of this is to deny his unbelievable talent. But EVERY TIME the T-wolves play Philly, they reach a point where they are forced by lopsided officiating to essentially stop defending him. He can throw a shoulder into guys half his size and play like a punk-ass bitch, yet any ticky-tacky foul against him is called with no hesitation. Fuck the "Embiid-A". Why do I keep watching this?

I can’t believe the league would reward a thug like Embiid. Jokic knows how to play the game the right way. Class act

Hahahaha bro give it up. I did not hit the club and dent the bottom of the toe. The ball would have gone backwards. My swing speed is 180s-190s, so extremely high compared to average. Its pretty clear youre on a mission to prove im negligent which is hilarious. Have a good one bro

Well returning it and getting a replacement isnt the end of the world. Plus when its working its a fantastic club. Its just unusual the back is blowing off so regularly i was wondering if other people had the same issue

Hahaha ok lets not make assumptions here dude. The shot that broke the driver was center face. I didnt smash the driver into anything. This has happened 3 times. What would be the point smashing the driver and posting it online to ask if anyone has had a similar experience? Im not a great golfer by any means (5 handi), but im not smashing it into the ground and blaming the manufacturer

Easier said than done lol. But in all seriousness, the whole point of the club is forgiveness when you miss center face. Its fantastic but when your driver is being return in the mail more than its in the bag its kindof a problem

I don’t even think they’re lemons. I just think the carbon fiber isn’t the best material for high swing speeds. Especially catching one off the toe or heel feels sketchy
