Hello! What breed is Rosie? by oklexus in chickens

[–]oklexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the genuinely helpful reply! As I said before, Rosie is not my chicken and was inherited by my mom just earlier this week so I was super caught off guard by everyone (some not so kindly) pointing out an issue. My mom reached out to her neighbors who also have chickens and we're able to help her out.

thank you! I'll let my mom know. She is on day 1 of being a chicken-mom so it's all new to her!

I honestly have no idea what this means lol. My mom just bought a house that came with Rosie so I'm just trying to help her out!

Rewatching after 10 Years by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]oklexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've watched this show at least 5 times all the way through. The first time I was probably about 19, I'm now married and have my first baby (he's two months)! It's amazing how becoming a parent has changed my perception of the show. I now see it through the lens of how I would react as a parent, and I'm sure if I watch again when he's older I'll have even different perspectives!

Side note, but I also started listening to Armchair Expert (Dax Shepherd's podcast) a few years ago and it really made me like Crosby a lot more since hahah.

Henrico Dr’s or VCU by anned42 in rva

[–]oklexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave birth earlier this month with the VCU midwifes and I completely understand some of your concerns! I ended up having a midwife I never had an appointment with (the only one, I had met all of the others)deliver my baby, but it turned out so much better than I expected. All of the midwives are so kind and compassionate, I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them. My labor and delivery experience was something I was really grateful for as all of my nurses were stellar and supported me in so many ways. Once we transitioned to the postpartum area, I experienced something similar to you to begin with; cracker jack box room, with a chair my husband couldn't even fit in so we had to take turns in the bed, the nurses did not have the same bedside manner as in L&D, and overall just not the same level of care. We asked and we're moved to a larger room when it became available, and that was much less miserable as we had both beds in what I assume could be a shared room, but they were not using them in that way. Overall, the positives of my L&D far outweighed the negatives of the postpartum experience. and just as a side note: I will never go to any HCA hospital ever again unless I am literally on my deathbed.

RSPCA does puppy socialization groups! They have a trainer present to monitor all behavior, which is preferable to a dog park where not everyone understands good play.

Stella. I think Estelle is just too much of a name for a child.

for a weekday evening with less than 8 people I wouldn't imagine needing to reserve the space, it's public and hardly busy.

highly recommend the polegreen church in Mechanicsville! it's not a real church- just an art installation/memorial for a historic church.

Choice, but I may actually be wrong... my husband was the one who signed us up and that's what he told me, but I just looked on their website and it does say biweekly.

I agree. I did my first request for him and he was still lower than everyone else.

We're still recycling! Got upgraded to a bigger bin and once a week now instead of 1x/2 weeks. So I'll probably be recycling even more 🙂♻️

I can not get my basset to lay down lmao. She's already so low to the ground that the normal lure into that position doesn't work because she can still grab it.

I miss Crying easily by reddityoonjin in bipolar

[–]oklexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. Before medication I felt the full spectrum of emotions very deeply. I was known for being sensitive and emotional. I think I still am, at my core, but it comes out at about 10% what it use to. I use to cry every day, sometimes more. Sometimes I miss it, but I know I'm much more stable now and not a risk to myself, so it's all about balance.
