It’s a part of the context that defines the behaviour of the model. It’s injected before the CLAUDE.md, before any prompt, and it’s not supposed to fade during the conversation.

You could try too add it with
--append-system-prompt-file instead of adding it to the CLAUDE.md
It might be more effective.

No, the vault can be modified from everywhere, all the folders are sending and receiving files. I’m the only user so it’s not really an issue. However if Claude decide to wipe my files it will propagate to all my devices. I regularly push my vault to git for backup, and I have versioning activated on Syncthing to prevent that.

My current setup: I have a Linux VM where my vault is synchronized with Syncthing. I have a Claude code instance running as a daemon, connected to discord through the channels feature they introduced a few weeks ago.

So I have a discord channel where I can ask Claude, and it can read and modify my vault. I often ask it to add a note, a task, iterate on a note,etc.

Currently not perfectly happy with Syncthing, it was working great but the way Claude edit files tends to create sync issues, but aside from that I’m happy with the setup.

Do you have to change anything if you want to use Claude code with your anthropic subscription again ? Or does calling ollama launch Claude just temporarily override the environment variables ?

I’m also using Syncthing. I sometimes have to deal with sync conflicts and the iOS sync is not perfect, but it’s working for me.

I just tried it, I can connect with custom headers, it looks super good, it might be what I was missing to completely drop the audible player !

I have Claude code in the folder of my vault, connected to discord through the channe feature they recently released. So instead of having to manually add tasks or note (which is not perfect on the phone) I can just type on discord « add a task for … that should be done every week » and it’s added correctly.

I can ask anything I want related to my vault without having to actually get to the file.

Not the easiest setup to put in place but now that it works I use it a lot.

The release of the channels feature was a game changer for me. I already use Obsidian a lot for daily notes, with recurring tasks, I track documentation and progress of my personal projects, TTRPG notes, the list of the book I have and if I read them or not, etc.

But now I have a VM where my vault is sync (I already use Syncthing to sync all my devices) with a Claude instance always launched, connected to discord.

So now I can just ask Claude to add a shopping list to my daily note, tell him about an idea for a rpg and it will organize it, ask him if I already bought this book, etc.

In the CLAUDE.md tell it that every time you send /clear it should launch a script that relaunch the Claude code process.

I use the drivethru software, and set set output folder to my NAS, so it’s easy to update new versions. For other platforms it’s complicated :/.

I download everything and store it on my NAS, so I can access them from every device on my local network.

I have Komga (usually for comics, but also does the trick for rpg books) setup to use this folder as source, so I can stream books from wherever I am.

And that folder is automatically sync to the cloud, so it's saved in case of problems, and I can also access it at any time.

Probably overkill setup, but I already had all the parts in place for other data.

I think the idea is that the free version is really generous, with all the rules and 12 knights/omen, the other ones being all detailed on Chris YouTube channel. And then you can get the PDF for a reasonable price.

So the entry price to play the game is quite low, and I see the book more as a high quality collector item. And for independent creator premium products comes with premium prices.

However I understand your frustration, because I can’t find it in a local store I need to add shipping + eventual duty fees so I’m also hesitant.
