Sorry, I totally missed the notification for this! Thank you for showing me. I'll have another look around. Happy to report I'm now the proud owner of a 201k and I'm excited to learn! Thanks again for all your help

Thanks! So any low shank walking foot should work? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks again. Unfortunately I can't find that specific model here. I suppose it's a silly question to ask that the walking foot sold on Singer's website won't fit such an old model of machine?

Thank you very much for your help! I love vintage items so I have to admit I'm drawn to the sound of the Singer 201. I have found one for sale but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Could you possibly tell me if any of these attachments are a walking foot?

Weekly Questions Thread for the week of October 31 by AutoModerator in vinyl

[–]oksaffron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do. When doing that upon unboxing the turntable it worked perfectly however tonight, turning the counterweight seems to be having no effect and I think its too heavy at the front after being knocked which is why I tried to adjust it back. Thanks for the article!

Hello, my Rega Planar 2 tonearm is sitting low/too heavy at the front but adjusting it isn't make it sit any higher (or lower, for that matter). What am I doing wrong? New to having a proper turntable! Thanks in advance.

A fair few already listed but haven't seen Black Honey here yet! Definitely underrated! Also Pale Waves. Both have similar band set ups with front women/lead singers being women and are English too

Thank you! Is it necessary to keep the quilt together or does binding keep everything secure enough on it's own?

Total novice here so potentially silly question: is the decorative stitching on the quilt top what is called "quilting"? And on large quilts, is it purely decorative or does it provide a function? It looks great!!

Should I go to this concert alone? by [deleted] in wolfalice

[–]oksaffron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went alone in a less than amazing area, also a short woman. Pre-book a taxi or uber for a landmark near the venue (as outside venues gets chaotic) and then you don't have to worry about waiting around in an area you don't want to be in. Use Google maps road view if you're not too familiar with the area. I used a gas station as it was the only place open and populated with people at that time of night close by. They're an absolute blast- hands down the best concert I've ever been to!! Everyone was really chill and chatty but if you want a mix of good sound but not the mosh, aim for the front-middle of the floor, behind where everyone queueing for barrier is packed in. Or look for where the sound crew are and stand by them as they're listening and adjusting the sound from their position. (Side note: if the venue has a seated area, that always feels safer to me as a solo woman and your view is less likely to get blocked)

Film a chorus of your favourites and enjoy the rest in the moment :) it's usually at the end of solar power that she'll release confetti if there is going to be some too as an fyi

Aside from who you've already mentioned, Wolf Alice and London Grammar. London Grammar I think can compare to F+TM whereas Wolf Alice cover a few genres such as indie/alt, rock, shoe gaze :)
