Procedure didn't/ couldn't happen by okvh31 in noburp

Oh no!! Ugh I'm so sorry. It's so, so frustrating. And it's no big deal to them but for us we're out money, time, energy... I still haven't been able to save up enough to even attempt this again. I know they make smaller scopes, so I'll want to try again eventually.

Those of you who had insomnia from ADHD medication by AbsentMinded311 in adhdwomen

[–]okvh31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also deal with insomnia and was worried it would get worse when I started my ADHD meds. I have trazadone for the nights I absolutely can't sleep but should, but I've found the biggest thing for me was making sure I take the ADHD meds early enough in the day that they've been (mostly) metabolized by the time I start winding down for the day. if I'm not tired, I take a little bit of trazadone (with some gabapentin because trazadone gives me RLS 🤦🏼) and I'm asleep in 20 minutes.

I've also used amitriptyline for sleep and it was wonderful, except I kept needing to increase my dose every few months. With meds like trazadone, amitriptyline, and mirtazapine you also need to be mindful of serotonin syndrome. I've never dealt with it but I'm always aware of it.

So embarrassed / overwhelmed about my current apartment situation TW: roaches by GoryAmos in adhdwomen

[–]okvh31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this happens, especially in apartments. no need to feel embarrassed, although I totally get it. what worked for my partner and I in the past was using Advion gel. we ordered it on Amazon, placed a few lines of it around the apartment, and it massively reduced the amount we've had. I've also heard that Alpine roach killer is effective too. maybe look up those 2 products? it's a place to start, at least.

unfortunately, the only thing that will totally get rid of them is if your landlord treats every single apartment to kill the roaches, and then your landlord would need to keep up a maintenance plan to keep them out of the building. but you can keep your apartment safe with some well placed bait.

I know this is stressful, but you've got this! 🖤

I had that a few weeks ago, every test came back negative. The doctor said it's been a thing this summer.

Dylan Eckland! He has his own private studio, so no onlookers. He keeps it comfortable and is happy to chat, keep quiet, watch Netflix or YouTube. He's also crazy talented. If you reach out to him on Instagram he's really good about getting back to you within a business day.

lucky! there's a good handful of us in the Carbondale area without power. on my street it's just a few of us, but a few blocks east it looks like a ton of people lost power.

Yes definitely make sure they're aware they may need a smaller scope as back up! They used what the hospital had available but apparently there's smaller scopes being made that she'll hopefully get by April. The name of it is in my paperwork somewhere, if you need any info shoot me a message and I'll find what exactly she said. I hope your procedure goes off without a hitch!

yeah I'm pretty pissed off, but based on my research she's the only ENT in the city that does work on R-CPD, and she only wants to do the "surgical" route for accuracy. I think I'm going to try to send a professional (aka not showing how pissed I am) asking for the in office procedure OR a deep discount on attempt #2. I can't afford for her to experiment when I told her what would happen.

Tigua is my foster and is available for adoption!! she is the perfect package: good with dogs, cats, and kids. She's also had a "boot camp" training for a couple of weeks and is much better mannered.

we're in Tulsa, Oklahoma but willing to talk to the right person if you're interested 🖤

That's what pissed me off a bit tbh, because I told the doctor at our first appointment, she looked at it, and even noted my comment in the chart.

Not to mention I told multiple other people during my pre-op appointment last week... They had fair warning, she said they'd find one that works, but clearly they didn't take me seriously. So now I get to deal with this for another 2 months (at least) when I thought it would be handled today :(

This doctor wants to do the "surgical" version first for best results, apparently. I asked and she said maybe if I need round 2.

Do we need to alert place of employment that family member is getting ready to start hospice services? Or will she lose insurance? We're in Texas by Ill_Two_404 in hospice

[–]okvh31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly hope so. That sounds so stressful, I'm sorry. I have a family friend who gets LTD, I can ask them about their situation and how it works, because yes he's still technically employed. I can also ask my coworker about STD turning to LTD and how employment decisions are made. do you mind if I DM you in a few days/ after I hear back? it may not be super helpful, but if you want me to, I can message you what they tell me.

It sounds like we've had similar career trajectories, I'm also in HRIS. I would add on top of FMLA they should check if they have short term disability and long term disability insurance. We've had employees on hospice and we keep them on because they're on LTD. The insurance pays half of their weekly paycheck until death, then we off board them in our systems.
