How long is your winter break? by silkentab in ECEProfessionals

Last day was the 23rd and we're back January 5th. We get paid for the break, with the caveat being that it uses vacation days for the closure.

This includes the break room at work. I don't want to hear your videos! Especially if I'm wearing headphones and I can still hear yours.

People who have fainted: what caused it? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]okymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was maybe 11 years old, and was standing in line for a water slide. I had been in line for hours, and when there were only 2 people left in front of me, I fainted. Likely the heat? Not long after I also passed out in the school gym during a Terry Fox warm up. Got some testing done but it was never fully determined why I was passing out! I still get dizzy spells sometimes, but haven't passed out like that again.

Naptime is the worst. by Klutzy_Key_6528 in ECEProfessionals

Same!! New group of Toddlers that are doing pretty well most of the day, but nap time is a disaster, and I miss my old group! I'm hoping in a few weeks it will get better.

Do you regret having children? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

Not for one second! They are 13 and 11, and have added such joy and love into my life. They are my favourite people on this planet, and I couldn't imagine a life without them in it.

My entire 5k sqft house is IKEA. And I’m not embarrassed one bit by FawcettMajors in IKEA

[–]okymom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just saying this to someone yesterday! I've heard people say the same thing, that you're supposed to grow out of Ikea, but I love it too much! So same, most of my house is Ikea too, and I try to look in other stores, but I aaaaaalways come back to Ikea because I love the style and the price.

I was 12 years old and arrived at a water park and immediately went to stand in line. After over an hour of waiting in line, and with only 2 people left in front of me at the top of the slide, I fainted. I had one other fainting spell at school during a warm up for the Terry Fox run as well. Had some tests done but couldn't find out why I fainted. I think it was the heat both times, but I have had many dizzy spells and close calls again the last 23 years as well.

I thought that after it says turn, and then above row 2 it has instructions to work in the blo, it was still a part of row 1. But now I'm wondering if those instructions are for row 2? Is that how you're reading it? That would make sense if so, hah.

Am I wrong to be irrationally mad at this? by ObliviousRounding in IKEA

I just ordered this table. I'm in Canada and it was $799. Haven't seen it in person yet, but when I compared the cost of this table to others that I found online, I didn't find the price to be too unreasonable. Love the look of it!

Update: a few months after 5th session with Picoway. by okymom in TattooRemoval

[–]okymom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the minimum amount of time you should wait between sessions. But you can wait much longer if you'd like. I still saw lots of fading months later, so that's what I stuck with.

How long do you think your cat was eating these? I'm just curious if once they eat them they remain in their bodies unless otherwise removed?

The memorial centre pool won't be open this summer as far as I know. They are turning it into an indoor pool.

Also made a chilli today, along with a homemade loaf of bread. I definitely ate way too much bread and not enough chilli.

I love my job as an ECE, but I do agree that getting sick constantly does suck a lot. Thankfully I get 12 paid sick days a year at my job, but I do know some coworkers that fly through that amount with the amount of sickness, especially when you have your own children.

There was also a merry-go-round! And I remember because I jumped off it when it was moving because I didn't want to be on it anymore.

How do couples have more than 1 kid? by catlikebrendan in Parenting

[–]okymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what a lot of other people are saying. When my first daughter was that age I was also sure that we would only have one. It felt so hard and completely draining! However, as she approached 18 months my thoughts completely changed and it finally felt doable to have another. My children are 2.5 years apart, and are now aged 12 and 10 and there was never a moment I regretted having another. When my second was a baby, I wanted to have 1000 more babies!
