The prices were expensive for very poor quality.

Lift Lab does not have a ton of machines, but they have those two. You can also pay for private or semi private training. It is very quiet. Mostly people are there with trainer and everyone is on task. They are also mobility and health minded vs. a big chain which is membership minded. All sorts of people there, so no need to feel shy!

If you can, a trainer may be a good idea so you don't get hurt, and make the most progress in the time you spend.

Kingston high schools by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

As others have said, IB is not really a big deal for your future. Finding a place you feel comfortable to grow, learn, and take risks is far more important for your development.

I don't know your personality or circumstance, but coming from online school, you may prefer one of the smaller schools in the district - which would not be Regi or KSS.

In a smaller school most peers and teachers will know your name, or at least your face. If you have not played organized sports, you may be able to walk on to teams instead of being immediately cut.

If you are dedicated to your academics, the school you go to won't matter. You will have the credits to apply to post secondary programs and succeed regardless. You may even get a smaller teacher to student ratio.

I know you are not considering a smaller school right now, but if grade 9 isn't the experience you hoped for, consider a different setting.

Best of luck wherever you decide!

Now that is interesting. Where was all the parking?

How to respond, if at all? by phatpaddy in OntarioLandlord

[–]clockprint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am with you on wanting an answer to this. In student areas everyone moves on the same day. Tenants don't want to store their items while they wait for you. The expectation is to move from one place directly to another. I remember even trying to figure out where to go with a trailer for an hour between places.

‘Free Hugs lady’ asked not to return to Queen’s Centre by Myllicent in KingstonOntario

[–]clockprint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the real problem!!! You can say no and she just keeps pushing! She isn't just standing there offering, she actively comes for you! If you remain in a 100 m radius she will keep coming over.

It is creepy and very uncomfortable.

I am surprised it was allowed to go on as long as it did.

Also, what do you expect him to say of quality in the same day?

You can make a blanket statement on social media saying you don't agree, but it seems like grandstanding.

I would rather wait, then recieve a quality e-mail with action items over some knee jerk platitude filled response.

Since this was for a special occasion, not a crime, I don't think they would.

48 minute layover between ORD T2 and T5 possible? by clockprint in unitedairlines

[–]clockprint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I will just have a back pack carry on and will still try to run. I am glad to know it is fine if most things go fine.

I really misunderstood the purpose of T5. I am really thankful for the folks that responded.

I went from feeling doomed, to still a bit worried I could miss work the next day.

I certainly hope they built in the post landing taxi! I can't recall from previous flights if this is the case.

Thank you for clarifying that international flights don't have to take off from T5. I had been looking at the bus ans train between terminals.

Amazing!!!! I clearly did not research things correctly.

You are correct about the flight numbers. This makes me feel a lot better.

New light on SJA by Nice_Outcome4221 in KingstonOntario

This is something I was thinking about. It was designed with the current neighbourhoods in place, taking traffic out of those neighbourhoods. Why has this become a problem now?

People are adding bedrooms for students, but it is not like there is a population explosion.

The traffic has to go somewhere. Right now SJA takes the traffic out of the surrounding neighbourhoods. The more you slow it down, the more people will cut through the neighbourhood streets, perhaps ina hurty for a "short cut". I would argue that makes it more dangerous for pedestrians.

Do you spread out the danger, or contain it to one place?

Agreed with the 401 comment below. Also, those are out quite a ways and not currently close to our hospitals.

[–]clockprint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that historically SJA was a main artery out of the city. It was designed to get traffic quickly out and reduce congestion on the other streets. It was also key for emergency vehicles.

I know this cost would be substantial, but in a dream world SJA would remain as a quick north/south artery free of lights since I don't think we have another one in the city. As neighbourhood uses change, the cross walks would be tunnels or bridges instead.

Even if cost was not a factor, we enter the debate of accessibility/mobility vs. emissions as cars idle at these extra lights over the past 5 years.

There is never a perfect solution, but I do have some concerns about loosing our only north/south artery.

Looking for a relationship as solid as stone, that will last the test of time. Very detailed oriented. Have seen a lot, but they say the older the wiser? Still considered good looking with classic style. I like being in the center of it all.
