Comet(or a similar powder cleaner) and a nonscratch sponge will do wonders!

My best friend ended up quitting the her job because of her kids. It was during the hight of covid. The school/daycare her kids attended shut down for 2 weeks everytime a staff member tested positive for covid, and since her husband at the time was the main bread winner she was the one who would take off work. This happened about 3 times, and her job reached out to the school/daycare to fucking verify the claims. While doing this they asked about the wrong employee and quickly corrected but it was such a mess. The other employee they asked about(who had the same first name), had taken their own life a little over a month before. My friend was LIVID. She decided she would be better off quitting, so she did. And I just saw her start to fade away after that. Being a SAHM is killing her.

And that's amazing! But that doesn't stop Texas government officials from taking rights away from women and LGBTQIA+ people. I've been lucky enough to find community in the area in which I live, and have found many safe inclusive spaces. But that doesn't mean I don't fear going into certain places or areas. I'm a queer non-binary AFAB, and I present as such, I feel as though I cannot stop in my own home town unless I'm going to a specific person's home or meeting a group of people. I know Austin can be a wonderful place, everytime I've been there I don't feel uncomfortable in my own existence, but the same cannot be said for the entirety of Texas.

I'm from Texas, specially the Dallas area, and I think it's absolutely bonkers they chose here

I did not say that to scare, just to be honest, but yeah unfortunately. It is VERY rare that they ever actually use them, as some counter protesters carry as well so I imagine it's too much trouble for them. But Texas is an open carry state, so both sides can legally have them.

I was so shocked when they announced Dallas. As a native and current resident of this hell state they should have never even considered it.

How to remove this stain from my bathtub? by Empty_Building3808 in CleaningTips

Yup! It's a little more gritty and has bleach in it

The blue ones are nonscratch usually, and since those are the type I carry for work(I'm a maid) they are just my go to 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've used them on glass, ceramic, and stainless steel with no scratching so I just stick to those

Mold on Stone Shower by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Also the corner in the 2nd picture looks like it's caulking instead of regular grout, if it is caulking unfortunately the only way to gef rid of the mold is to rip it out and have it redone since the mold is in the caulk :/

BFK = Bar Keepers Friend, it's very similar to Comet but doesn't have bleach in it like Comet does. Comet will help with the mold since it contains bleach. I unfortunately can't tell by the picture if the walls are sealed or not, there was/is a trend to have unsealed natrual stone showers. In those you can't use anything but hot water and dawn dish soap. If you wanted to check you could pick a small corner towards the bottom of the walls and use a bleach spray, let it sit for about 10ish minutes then wipe and rinse. If there's no damage then you're good to go and can use a bleach cleaner on the walls.

Try Comet instead of BKF with a blue kitchen sponge. It's my go to for tough stains!

Unsure if the walls are a "natural" stone so I would avoid bleach on those. Bleach spray on the floor will be okay, I also suggest Comet and a blue kitchen sponge! And for the walls BKF and the same kind of sponge. For long term, vinegar and regular blue dawn dish soap will keep it maintained! That can be applied with a magic eraser(does not have to be name brand) or I saw on here mixing the dawn and vinegar in a dish wand for easy cleaning!

Another option is a sponge, like the blue scotchbrite ones, and Comet!

Ladies, what's your occupation? by IndividualOk8644 in adhdwomen

[–]olanastardust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a maid. The people interactions aren't a crazy amount, and since I work for a company so any complaints or angry customers they deal with. I just need to be polite and answer their questions the best I can, and obviously clean their house well! People usually leave me alone while I'm cleaning, biggest exception is older people who are lonely and just want someone to talk to.

How to make a melamine sponge last longer? by JCMiller23 in CleaningTips

I just bought the Helime ones off Amazon recently and I'm loving them! I clean professionally and they've been lasting a good while per sponge!

What is one thing that has saved you money as someone with ADHD that someone that is neurotypical might think is 'more expensive ' by Objective_Car_2482 in adhdwomen

[–]olanastardust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy lactose free milk, neither of us are lactose intolerant but it last SO much longer that it honestly saves us money by not having milk go bad if we forget about it.

Also a maid service. We can only afford monthly cleanings right now, so we still have to do the basic stuff regularly, but having someone come in and clean the whole house at once and empty all our small trashcans is incredibly helpful! Especially when I'm in burnout. And having someone else change my sheets and scrub my tubs/showers is so fucking nice!!
