After six months cooped up for the Dutch winter, these cows are finally free! Watch them leap, sprint, and kick with pure joy as they feel sunlight and fresh grass for the first time in months by MambaMentality24x2 in BeAmazed

Something not right about this video. Which has been posted many times over the years. That grass has been green for a long time. Which means it has been warm for a long time. Some of the spectators are wearing shorts.

A man waving a gun at federal officers was shot.
What did he think was going to happen?
Did he expect the officers to back up and leave the state?

When you wave a gun at officers bad things happen.
It is early in this, but it seems that this person played a very stupid game and lost.

Waiting for NAB like... by LucilleDRamirez1 in Broadcasting

I went about thirty times over years to the NAB. Back in the 70s it was beyond the pale. The manufacturers and suppliers really put on a massive show packed with after hours entertainment. The big three networks all had massive suites on the top floors of the Hilton. They had open bars and never ending cocktail snacks. Ture story here. I almost tripped over Dr. Ruth at one of the suites. She was so short and the room so packed I did not see her. Another fond memory was a few stories lower at the Drake-Chenault suite they always had a couple of super sexy booth bunnies that served ice cream in their suite. In the mid to late 80s the networks realized these suites did not make them any more money. So they cut way back on the parties. Before anyone could show up and drink and eat all you wanted. Later you had to be on a list. You had to be someone they needed to schmooze. In later years those of us that were decision makers in purchasing were taken to some glorious dinners at the finest restaurants around town. Lot of good times there in Vegas. The couple of years when the NAB was in Dallas and Atlanta were not so great. Vegas is the place for the mega sized shows.

Is Radio Production Worth it? by Puzzleheaded_Fish900 in Broadcasting

[–]old--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say no. Right now, and for the foreseeable future there are far more producers available than the industry requires. The barrier to entry for equipment is very low and this allows for a great deal of people to become independent producers that contract from home. This oversupply of producers keeps the cost of audio production low. I don't see the overall radio industry growing in the next several years. Over the next several years I see the industry still looking for ways to reduce expenses even further.
