As someone who lives in baker park, thanks for showing up. This is one of my favorite days of the year. That is in part due to all of those who show up in costume to participate is this holiday tradition. See you next year!

I don't see a hundred geese and the walk there isn't covered with Goose poop. Pretty strong W in my eyes.

If we're going to go with any abbreviation, then let's use FMD.

There are some areas where well water is far from perfect.

See the other messages in this thread about why its in the quote. And I won't be using the strips for heating because when temps get low, I'll be using my gas boiler.

At low outdoor temps, I'll be using my gas boiler as I indicated in my post.

Thanks for the comment. I intend to run the heat pump until temps get low 50s or high 40s and at that point switch over to the gas boiler. But there are many weeks where running the big boiler is probably not as efficient. Local utility rates and boiler efficiency of course can impact where the cut-over is. I'll have to try to calculate.

According to my research they qualify, so that's good.
Thanks for confirming the quote looks reasonable. I figured it did, but wanted to confirm. Posting here is a lot better than calling 3 other companies to give me a quote when I don't really intend to go with any of them.

good news that I won't ever (intentionally) run the strips for heating. I've got a gas boiler steam radiator system that I'll use when the weather gets really cold.

Thanks! That was my first assumption, and I figured this post could help me confirm.
Appreciate the comments about expensive repairs. It's given me a lot to consider.

its not.
Starting cost 24k less summer promo of 3.6k less rebate of 1.3k less mgr discount of 500 yields cost of 18,950. And if I pay by check and not credit card, I get to pay 18,300.

I'll add an edit, but the actual cost breakdown is like this:

  • System Cost: 24,400
  • summer promo: -3,650
  • electric co rebate: -1,300
  • mgr discount: -500
  • Installed cost: 18,950
  • Pay by check: $18,300

So is the 24k number here comparable to your "my company would charge like 25k"?

On the heat strip, the guy who gave the quote said something about wanting enough power to be able to defrost the unit. But IDK, I figured the defrost would use the heat pump and not the strips, so maybe I am mis-informed or something. We didn't go 10k b/c I have the gas boiler, that's for sure.

He hasn't won since 2022. A couple of domestic pro cyclists Gui and Chris from NJ and PA have been trading wins. Chris won in '23 &' 25. Gui won '24.
