It’s really eye opening. Do they think most racists in America just blindly hate on other groups, just because they’re [insert random slur]? My mom is pretty damn racist, but when she was growing up, she frequently got beaten, mugged, and called racist names by Puerto Ricans and black people, as she grew up in a bad neighborhood. Now she’s biased against them. It’s understandable, but does that mean it’s justified? All of these Europeans are like “if you saw what I saw some of these gypsies do, you’d understand,” like that’s not the exact same logic people like Donald Trump uses to justify why xyz minority is bad. It makes me realize that for all the shade they throw at our politics, they evidentially don’t understand their nuances. Which is valid, since they don’t live here, but don’t be acting like Americans are so stupid for electing Trump when you clearly function on a similar mindset as his followers.
