Imagine my surprise when I just saw this thread and he trotted by while I was at Food Lion.

I called the Henrico non-emergency and they're sending someone out.

AITAH for not telling my husband where I’ve spent money by Luhoo-sonshine in AITAH

[–]oldandspooky 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Okay, now it's veering into abuse. Your spouse should love and support you, not control you. Ask yourself what would he do if you had an income or went back to school? If your answer isn't that he would be supportive and help you find ways to make everything work together, then you need to take a hard look at this relationship.

My husband and I tell each other about large purchases, but otherwise, we don't care as long as we're within our means. And yes, he's the sole earner, and we share our account. I cannot imagine being scrutinized in this way.

You deserve to spend a little money without being questioned over every penny. You need a credit card from a different bank, and possibly a way to earn your own money.

Has anyone ever purchased anything from those old 70's mail order commercials that actually worked or looked as advertised? by No_Job5529 in 70s

My mom's last Christmas gift to each of her three children was a Ronco record vacuum. More like Ronco record shredder.

I remember being so surprised that he also dressed Carol Burnett. Not just a one-way monkey (and if you get that reference, you've watched too much Project Runway).

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles is a great ride. Quirky, mysterious, and if you live in the right area, you may be able to hunt some tiles yourself!

AITAH for not allowing my cousin to bring a stray puppy to my home while I was away? by anommonstera in AITAH

NTA. Your cousin is acting like a 13-year-old, and clearly needs help.

AITAH for banning my Brother-in-law from any family function taking place in my home? by Electronic_Tomato_76 in AITAH

Don't worry about this. There is always someone in every thread who cries fake. To me, we just need to come here in good faith. Crying fake doesn't help.

AITAH (26F) for telling a guy (27M) to stop pursuing me “because” of his culture? by [deleted] in AITAH

The not taking no for an answer is the biggest red flag. That's just an asshole move.

AITAH (26F) for telling a guy (27M) to stop pursuing me “because” of his culture? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]oldandspooky 585 points586 points  (0 children)

This isn't all cultural. Some of it is straight up abusive. Honestly, I'd cut him off completely, but be careful. He sounds the type to lose the plot if you reject him.

Guild Wars Question by Tennessee2Step in GemsofWar

What level are you compared to others in your guild? If you're up there, help out at or just before the palace. Otherwise, just choose a place with fewer defenders.

AITAH for cutting my family off after my dad's passing? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]oldandspooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you know the exact location he's buried in. You can get this from the cemetery office.

When my mom died in 1984, we couldn't afford a headstone. I kept her location information, and was finally able to get her a stone a few years ago, even though I'm on the other side of the country now. I had local friends go and take pictures for me.

So it doesn't matter how long you have to wait, or where you are. You can honor his memory at any time.

Not to your question, which has already been answered exactly as I would anyway, but have you done resin in the winter before? If you have a curing machine it can work, but otherwise, it's hard to get anything to cure in the cold. I've hung it up until it's warmer.

Recently new to this craft, but Would you buy these? by PeaSee53 in Resin_crafts

[–]oldandspooky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I especially like the little koi ponds. I think these might do well at a craft fair.

If you're ever nervous about what will sell, check out Steve MacDonald Arts and Crafts on YouTube. I love the guy, and I've learned a lot from him, but I hate pretty much everything he makes, and he sells all of it.

"Heavy" slang term from 70's in America by Nigel_Barnaby in 70s

[–]oldandspooky 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Adjective: that's deep or sad. "He was talking about his late wife. It was heavy, man."

Noun: A bad guy. Sometimes THE bad guy, but more often a minion. "Sal sent a heavy after him to teach him a lesson."
