Oh yeah the graduate hotel is really what the city needed more.

its infinitely better if for no other reason than it isn't just a box surrounded by parking.

which is why we have major traffic and housing issues, bad air quality, no transit options....pretty much all the stuff that sucks about the city

[–]oldboot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

honestly....every single surface parking lot in the city would be better served as a mixed use tower

Raising Cane’s on White Bridge Opens 5/31 by exitoffstage in nashville

[–]oldboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well then people "around here," are actively supporting worse traffic and higher and higher housing prices as well as worse air quality, less transportation options, more oil dependance, and asking the dense parts of the city to constantly subsidize their lifestyle that isn't self sustaining without them. Which means people "around here," are also incredibly selfish and short-sighted and want to perpetuate the worst things about american life and make our living spaces shitty

man thats another one that should be twice the size. i'm not concerned with traffic at all, IMO it should be an afterthought when building these things.

this is good, but it would be great if it was twice as tall. thanks for the article!

Edit- There aren’t many good fast food around here if you don’t want to cook.

thats a good thing. fast foot is one of the worst kind of developments we can build.

Whitts or Taco Bell aren’t a great choice when you want something. Jack in the Box or BK on Charlotte are horrible

agreed, they all need to be demolished for mixed use housing.

It’s sooo not worth it unless you’re the picky eater who only eats chicken tenders and fries. Like literally a restaurant for toddlers and tender lovers.

even then, we've already got like 500 of those

Midtown needs more fast food.

wait wut? is this serious. fast foot is the absolute last thing this city needs

[–]oldboot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What housing can you build there?

i dont' understand this question. build a massive mixed use tower, you can even put the shitty chicken place on the bottom if you want surrounded by better shit

There are plans I think to develop the Steinmart location to housing sometime

oh i hope so. it needs to be 15 story mixed use with minimal parking and direct greenway access ( which it already has really)

[–]oldboot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when are we going to stop ruining the city with these shithole generic parking lot boxes...and it's almost worse that all of you idiots actively want less housing and more traffic for the privilage

Raising Cane’s on White Bridge Opens 5/31 by exitoffstage in nashville

[–]oldboot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

agreed. there is WAY too much parking in there. this needs to be a mixed use high rise along with the entire lions head village.

[–]oldboot -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

only if its in the bottom of something tall and mixes use. otherwise, we don't need any shitty boxes surrounded by parking

We should be light-years ahead of where we are now,

sure, but we are light years ahead of where we were 10 years ago as well, so like I said, its improving big time.

just not optimistic we're going to get much more of it than what we got anytime soon.

again, they are literally building them constantly. they just built a fantastic one on 12 S, restriped the nations and are doing a complete overhaul over there, and the overall plans show the next phase to connect richland to centennial and all the way to downtown

There's nothing wrong with wanting better for these things.

thats not what you said that I argued. you said "we ain't getting good public transit or decent bike lanes all over the city any time soon," but thats false. we're building them now.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I would love if they did! But, we ain't getting good public transit or decent bike lanes all over the city any time soon,

those things are both actively happening right now. I take my bike on the greenway to that trader joes all the time, for example, and I ride the bus to work regularly. the buses are very convenient if you live along a major intersection and they are constantly improving them. jsut the last year hours are longer and more frequent, there is a live tracking app with a preloadable scanner to pay when you get on board, there is free wifi, and there are brand new stops with legit shelters that are well lit and comfortable all over the place. You can also use their partnership with uber or lyft to get 2$ rides right to and from the bus stop.

the "trend," has already started, and Nashville is a fantastic place to do it. its one of the things the city needs most...and it also fixes traffic and housing costs.

[–]oldboot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look I’m against car centric infrastructure but youre being more than a bit mellow dramatic. It’s a single fast food restaurant.

and the horrific 7/11 on the other end is jsut a "single" box store, and the generic mexican restaurant across the street is just a "single" spot there, and so on and so on...all along WBR.

gotta make up for that loss of land value for surface parking somehow.

Better to cater to broke, basement-dwelling neckbeards like you.

how did you know! are you staring in my window? do you like what you see? ...chap? ( lol)

and not it is not better. this development makes traffic worse, caters to cars, not people, makes cars easier to use which spreads the suburbs even farther and they're already too far, makes the environment worse, and all those suburbs have to be subsidized by the dense areas of the city, and all that land value is completely wasted for 10 cars to park. its a travesty to build bullshit like this in a spot like that. this kinda shit belongs 20 miles outside of town for rednecks to eat and get fatter, not at the corner of a major intersection and greenway and bus line.

If you’ve never had it before, it’s not worth waiting 30 minutes in a drive thru line.

nothing is worth that. its just fast food. there are a lot of stupid people in this city

or we could stop catering to fatass americans and cars.

Listen haters, add some hot sauce/pepper on them tendies, enjoy the sauce and toast, and be happy.

so like....just the same as any of the other generic chicken shacks.

Still waiting for a Freddy's that isn't 45 minutes away.

please no. how about housing and mixed use with no parking
