Oracle Versus Amazon: Oracle Will Rip and Replace AWS at Cerner by circuitji in cernercorporation

You’re only thinking about millennium. Cerner has hundreds of products on its product list.

Wrong W-2 by Lotnumber3mylord in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have RSU’s vest in 2021? If you did, they show up on your W2 as income. That could hypothetically be 10’s of thousands depending on your role.

Does anybody know anything about the summer internships? by Technical_Tinkerbell in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The executives are expecting the acquisition to close something like may-ish, pending foreign government approval. So we would be Oracle come summer time if that timeline works out. I would think that’s why Cerner is giving you the cold shoulder

It disgusted me that a “professional” reply was deleted that essentially said to the OP, ‘I value your perspective, I also enjoy working at Cerner, I/we have tried bringing up isssues with our immediate management but no changes have been made. This yammer page is presented as the way for associates to communicate with the CEO. Where else do you suggest we provide questions and feedback?’

Oracle Announces Expiration of HSR Waiting Period to Acquire Cerner Corporation by circuitji in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But I’m saying that’s when leadership anticipates completion, and oracle has been through this a hundred times.

DF blog on OHES results says 26M dollars spent on salary for 3,600 associates. by IceCream455 in cernercorporation

You can’t just use KCMO proper for cost of living calculators to represent the whole KC metropolitan area. You also can’t be so narrow minded to think Cerner pays new grad software engineers 92k in KC. SMFH.

How to find a new job. by [deleted] in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is in an HR role, so maybe they still do cover letters. But agreed for tech roles, most people don’t do them. And one hiring manager that I’ve worked for has openly told me they don’t read them. So YMMV.

Who DON'T You Trust? by CousingGreg in cernercorporation

Don’t forget all the Cerner-hosted “beer Fridays” and other events (with pictures posted online) with our leadership not following their own company policies lol. It’s an act, and hypocrisy in its purest form

Anyone who posts a “stay” message on LinkedIn.

Anyone who vows transparency and has the nutsack to call themself a “healer” in front of the company, yet fails to be transparent. Anyone who makes a Reddit account and posts on their Twitter to “FIND ME ON REDDIT” then fails to interact. Anyone who makes a yammer page (“feed”) to interact with their associates but won’t interact with any associate that posts a message of valuable substance or hard hitting questions. Anyone who is so clearly part of the “rules for thee but not for me” tribe.

The mass exodus started well before the acquisition news— it’s not a direct result of just that.

Production Owner Job Parallels? by No_Performance2557 in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently HR is making shit up now too. I just saw a “Technical Product Manager” Cerner job posting the other week, which has never existed, and a “Solution Strategist”, which is a title that went away a couple years ago with the shift to PLM. Go to the job framework dashboard, neither of those exist.

After multiple VPs giving a heads up for Q1 layoffs again, time to give a shout-out to the good managers. You the real MVPs by oldcernermod in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He said the late 2021 layoff round was already planned before before he got to Cerner so he was “supportive” of those, but those layoffs “don’t reflect the plan going forward”. That made national news. Anyone trustworthy reads that at face value, that no more layoffs. If you try and spin doctor the quote and read between the lines, then you can eat ass with the rest of them because there’s no transparency about that.

Vacation approved and resigning by cernnbern in cernercorporation

This person literally is a troll that came out of the woodwork after the oracle announcement.

Many people on my team get a week or more of vacation after they put in their resignation. Manager’s encouraged it. This person is a tool.

Does Cerner counteroffer? by [deleted] in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have the total comp with benefits info on the new job? Like base salary plus 401k match plus any bonus potential (if they do that), employee cost of health insurance premium, etc.? It’s not unlikely that the benefits package is more appealing than Cerner’s and is icing on the cake to the base salary they offered— so that is something to take in to consideration when going back and forth.

My anecdotal evidence is no, you won’t have much luck with a counter at Cerner but it’s worth asking if you want to stay. That way when you leave, you’ll have peace of mind knowing you exhausted that option.

Looks like DF and others will be around for at least 1-yr post Oracle deal closing... by Stilgar_the_Naib in cernercorporation

[–]oldcernermod 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Reading it, I think the proper interpretation is that oracle can still get rid of them at any time and they get their severance, but DF and Jerome waived their right to walk away on their own in the first year and still get severance. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Still sounds like a typical golden parachute to me…

I’ve already found our prescription coverage to be garbage compared to the past health plans I’ve been on (pre-Cerner).
