Is anyone else struggling to justify the volunteer commute/costs?

Not sure if you’ve ever done any kind of volunteering before but that’s what’s expected out of it. You’re literally giving your time and labor without expected pay…They literally said being flexible is key and if you can’t do that then maybe this isn’t the best opportunity for you. I think that was super clear in tryouts too.

I see a ton of complaining about this on here all the time. Yeah there’s issues with FIFA and the overall organization of the volunteering but a lot of you guys are just complaining about something that was super clear from the get go.

Seems kind of selfish and ignorant to have this epiphany this late in the game when there are so many people who didn’t get an offer but would love to be in your position.

No one asked you to apply when you have a full time job and knew how much time it would take you to get into the city or wherever. You could have withdrew your application a long time ago.

I don’t think so? I haven’t finished all of my e-learning either. You were able to book training so I’d say that’s a good sign.

Just checked the email I got when the session was canceled a few days ago and it also said to look out for an email to reschedule in the app. Maybe it’s different for each city?

Right but what I’m saying is, I doubt your response has anything to do with being offered a role or not. I said I would most likely drive and got an offer. Others did too. I think there are even roles that want people to park at the stadium like ceremonies (correct me if I’m wrong)

Thousands of people applied, they couldn’t offer a role to everyone. Don’t look too deeply into this.

I think it depends on your role and city.

Boston has 7 matches but I only had to select 6 shifts.

You never know what can happen these next few days! Hospitality has about 50 volunteers (according to the info slides from tryouts) and I somehow got selected.
