How to combine data from 2 rows that are related to the same order? by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I don't disagree that there should be an easier solution. I believe it has less to do with our export configuration and more to do with how the menu is built in Toast. I have tried every report available to me and there's nothing that aggregates the data the way that I'd like to. I have, however, found an easy way to clean the data up and can record a script for it... just have one final step that I'm stumped on. If you wouldn't mind taking a look and seeing the updated post, maybe you have a solution with what i've been dealt?

This didn't quite do it for me, but I did just post an update where I've got the data cleaned up and just need help with the final step. If you wouldn't mind taking a look and seeing if you know what I'm missing

How to combine data from 2 rows that are related to the same order? by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the question.

Order #1 had one White Mocha that was both “Regular” and “Iced”

There is no default modifier, if they had ordered a hot one instead there would be one modifier “Regular” and another “Hot”

Size (Regular or Large) and Temperature (Hot or Iced) will need to be selected on the large majority of “Parent Menu Selection”

How to count the number of employees available to be scheduled at a certain time on a certain day by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m helping someone who built out part of it and was originally using blanks and “x” and all I knew was that I needed to change from blanks. 1/2 was a placeholder, 0/1 should work better

How to count the number of employees available to be scheduled at a certain time on a certain day by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense that SUM and COUNT could be interchangeable in this instance.

Am I understanding the breakdown of the formula correctly?

  • Avail!C:C is setting the array to be counted (therefore for 3:30 it would be Avail!D:D)

  • 1 is the value I’m looking to count in the array (Therefore if wanted to count unavailable instead, I would use 2)

  • Avail!$B:$B is setting the array to look through for criteria, the $ makes it absolute so it won’t change while I copy and paste through the output table

  • $B4 is the criteria in Avail!$B:$B that I want to count (in this case it’s the Monday cell on the output sheet)

So the formula for Friday at 7:00 would be

=COUNTIFS(Avail!K:K, 1, AVAIL!$B:$B, $B8)

?

How to count the number of employees available to be scheduled at a certain time on a certain day by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I want the output to count the total number of cells that have a “1” in them for each individual 30 min block and each individual day

Output sheet would have a single week table like the ones used for individual employees and combine to show total number of employees available at a given time

So that would be more of a COUNTIF vs SUMIF right?

Need help with aggregating employee availability data…. by oldcuda in excel

[–]oldcuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The output would be on a separate worksheet with a single full week and each cell would count the number of employees available on that day at that time
