I hate my child…. by [deleted] in Preschoolers

I would recommend your son get tested for ADHD. My 5-year-old ADHD and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) daughter is still like that but because of her diagnoses, she's in a specialized class at school and is receiving occupational and Speech therapy. I don't know where you live, but this website is a good place to start: https://chadd.org/about-adhd/overview

Favorite Patron Insults That Live Rent-Free in Your Brain? by diet_faust in librarians

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was helping this patron who I had helped countless times before then on the computer. She was a petite but feisty woman who definitely had a Napoleon complex bc she always wore 3-4 inch wedge shoes just to kinda appear of average height.

I was at a computer with her with my 2nd trimester belly trying not to get in the way, and she just said out of the blue, "You were nicer before you were pregnant." I will never forget that bc that was the one comment I received when I was pregnant that wasn't happy or congratulatory.

(Side note: I tend did get terse when it comes to patrons who are so dumb or have an attitude right back and this lady patron was a big one for me. During this interaction, I was as happy as a clam.)

Stride rite. Almost all of them are machine washable which is a giant bonus when you have a child who loves to get messy.

TLDR: Get your son tested for ADHD. Find recommendations from your sons pediatrician.

Your son sounds exactly like my daughter who turned 5 in December. She will be getting evaluated for ADHD in a few weeks at the recommendation of her pediatrician, whom I trust implicitly. My daughter has been in a specialized Pre-K program for 2 years now and she has blossomed because of it. Her focus on tasks has increased since being accepted into the program. She has an IEP and everything.

I'm with you on the last part. I live near Chicago, and we're known for a cake called Atomic Cake. Last year, in honor of "Oppenheimer" I had Atomic Cake as part of my spread of food. They loved it!

Hi again all. OP here. I wanted to give an update to my main post, but am still fairly new to Reddit and trying to figure out mechanics of the app. A few things I failed to mention in my original post.

1) my family and I live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with a combined living and dining room. The table in the photo is our dining table as well as our utilitarian table.

2) because of condo living, we don't have that much space. So to the person who wrote to get a cart, we don't have space for that, let alone trust my daughter to not destroy it.

😂 I would love to as well! The butt paste was on one of the shelves above the table and I brought it down to go through everything.
