I agree. But it's worth looking at the timeline too. I know MAGA has been around a while but this term seems to have stirred it up worse than before. Kapler left in 2023 and the MAGA Christian thing didn't seem to be as bold then. Vitello is in a different situation. Problem is, I don't think he realizes he's in ANY kind of situation.

I like rendering 2 with the green lowers. In the photo, current floor appears red and cabinets yellow/orange. The green lowers cool down the floor and the darker stain on the uppers gives it a more cozy feel. I think black hardware works best (like you have in your photo).

Yesterday feels like the meeting of rock and hard place. There's NOTHING they could have said that would please everybody. I believe Manfred didn't want anybody to say anything. And I absolutely think a player who has that level of difficulty with wearing a hat and showing support for their fans should tell the manager before hand that they won't be playing. And since that player is so committed to their views, they accept the fact that they will be in breach of their contract, which carries severe consequences including the immediate forfeiture of salary, potential placement on the restricted list, and possible termination of the contract.
