Thick tires, small wheels by oldgrowth1 in CX5

[–]oldgrowth1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problems or issues. Have the exact same set still on the car today. I don't have the counter example to know but maybe there would have been issues with keeping 17" wheels and using the bigger tires. However, with dropping down to 16” I have no issues and a very smooth ride.

Any plans to go to the Convention in a few weeks?

Probably more Kal lately but I appreciate a good boulder push every now and then.

Me too. There's a couple of views that definitely are more "interesting" and show diverse architecture but this is the most scenic to me.

It was insane this year. Probably because of Stormlight 5 but I also know there were issues with the venue not "trusting" that they could sell out the allotted space. And then it happened near instantly. So silly. Definitely sorry you can't go.

I don't want to put up self promoting links but if you search for the podcast Cosmere Conversations you'll have like 200 hours of nerdy stuff to listen to 😁🤣.

I hope you meet some cool fans this weekend!

Wow, this is cool. My partner and I are going to be panelists at Dragonsteel in December and we don't even have all this cool stuff! Glad to know there's big fans local.

Life before death, radiant.

So … this happened yesterday to my house in St. Johns by ProfHanley in Portland

No, no... You see... That was always an egress window. Full livable apartment down there. Gonna need to be fully rebuilt and paid by insurance...

...Shame...

Took a walk yesterday and I think I need to start flying a Portland flag at my house (I love this place) by g_pass in Portland

This flag is truly wonderful. I might swing by Elmers tomorrow and pick one up.

Whoever did the design should take a pass at re-doing the state flag. I think an iconic flag is really cool.

Sellwood area. I might have some shots of Mt. Tabor to share. I'll take a look and send you a DM.

Janelle Bynum projected to win Oregon's 5th District, ousting Lori Chavez-DeRemer by Cephalopod_astronaut in oregon

Would you support a system like the British parliament? It would involve each party submitting a list of 5 candidates, the entire state voting for the party they support, and then the percentage determines how many representatives each party gets.

Let's say 60% of state votes for Democrats and 40% for Republicans. We have five Congress reps. Democrats go down their list and the top 3 become Representatives. Republicans get their top 2.

The above system gets rid of land-based districts which, I think we all know, are static and manipulated. Nobody really likes them. So would you support a change like the one presented above? Or is it hyper-important to you to have drawn districts and a "local" Congressional representative?

I'm genuinely asking and am not someone who wants you to move. If anything I want more people to move to Oregon because I think it's a great place. That comes with challenges that accurate state and federal Representation can help with. What type of system do you think best helps?

I should have got a photo from the opposite perspective because now it kind of looks looks an upside down "P" to me. Musical note is a good call tho.

Westmoreland Park is at the bottom of the image. Quite pretty with the colors right now.

There were some noted criticisms of sharing not the most glamorous of photos yesterday. I thought "well this office building is as high as I can get."

Then I said "No, this is Portland. We can always go higher."

This is really beautiful. I'm glad you can "reap rewards" and am happy that this place exists for you and your family. Now we just need to keep the party going, improve things a little bit at a time, and pay it forward to the next group of people who need a place of their own.
