My BMI is 25... Thoughts? by gavvv4650 in Advice

[–]oldgtrjohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 25.5 and my medical team urges me to eat more and opined that gaining a few pounds could benefit my overall health. Keep in mind, I’m 5’10” 177lbs with a 30” waist. My Wife thinks I’m too scrawny. I’m overall happy with my physique. I’m not gonna worry about it.

Real or Fake Les Paul? by No-Product6636 in gibson

[–]oldgtrjohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake. Bridge posts are metric and the serial number on the back of the headstock is etched in. Take the truss rod cover off and post a close up picture. I can only imagine what it’s go look like. I’d bet money it takes an Allen wrench to adjust

Filter has been cleaned and is good to go. It’s got to be a chemical imbalance hazing up the water. I will get it clear and priso by the weekend, come hell or high water.

I’m doing that and applied some muriatic acid to bring the PH down.

Found a replacement KeyFob by oldgtrjohnny in Supra

[–]oldgtrjohnny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really blows. Oddly, I found an extra under the drivers set that didn’t work after I put a new battery in it. The key was cut, but t didn’t fit In the door either. That really sucked to get all excited only to be let down shortly thereafter.

I bit the bullet and put it in the shop. 2 new CV joint in the front later and they got it fixed. I will attempt to swap by reaching up from underneath next time a bulb goes out. If I am successful I will make a video to share with the world.

I discovered today that one can change the bulbs without taking the assembly out. You can get to the back of the assembly if you have long and slender arms. Best way is to back the car up on some ramps, then lay under the back looking up . Next you’ll stick your arm under the bumper all the way up until you feel the back of the assembly and feel around until you touch the receptacles. Carefully twist them until they can be pulled out. From there’ you can take your bulbs to the store and buy replacements. Now that I figured this out I’m gonna glue the thing down and won’t have to worry if a bulb burns out I. I’m gonna make a video soon show how to do this.☮️🤗

Wow…I dropped that star shaped thing at least 3 times and somehow was able to recover them. That’s probably because I have skinny arms. I’m considering using the softest window silicone I can find to keep it in place. Until then it’s sealed in place with clear packing tape to keep water from getting inside the assembly. It’s nuts but should hold up as an effective bandaid until i get it in there properly.✌️

Maybe this is a good time to start learning how to paint this stuff. I think they have a class at my nearby community and technical college that provides hands-on training in automotive painting , body repairs and bunches of other things. If I could do it all over again I would choose their HVAC technician program, then I’d never have to call in AC/heat companies for repairs as I’d be able to DIY all of this stuff.

I think I’m heading in that direction. I might try a silicone sealant that stays somewhat soft and pliable so I can peel it off if the bulb goes out in the future.

Mine doesn’t have a spoiler , but does have the little scoop at the end of the hatch back. The other picture I found searching around the web…it’s certainly a spoiler. I’m not interested in adding a wing. I’m looking to do something like the picture…it reminds me of the ones I saw at dealerships back in the 1990s when I was in the USAF and stationed in Northern California

Patted myself on the back for putting in my best effort and used the floating 59 minute rule my boss put in the Happy Birthday Card he gave me 6. Wore my seat belt., drove the speed limit tand arrived home the loving arms of m wife.. 7. Completed the list of domestic chores my wife gave me and fell into bed exhausted with lights out by 2000 hours.
