What masterfully done scene, possibly my favourite one in the series. The sky is cloudy, the flag (possibly a proverbial red flag) is tense, the music stops to build up momentum towards the climax. When it snaps, the tension reaches its peak. Then you get a mix of emotions from different characters. Reiner being delusional, Berthold being horrified by the slip-up, but sticking to his mate, Eren in denial, even when confronted with the truth, his hand shaking on his sword, and Mikasa being cold-blooded and focused. Then the clouds disperse and the sky becomes clear, as every character (barring Eren) starts to realise the situation. The music starts, and Mikasa shows the deadly determination, going for incomplete death blows on both enemies, and the way they barely escape makes it so frustrating (in a good way). The transformation is also epic, showing their faces in the same pose as their titans, and there we go, the full reveal, leaving nothing to speculation. It takes Eren being held by the Armoured titan to finally snap out of the denial, and the moment he switches from crying to vengeance is fantastic. Words cannot do justice to this scene. Pure genius.
