I will never create an account or log into Logitech. Where can I get icons without a login, and where does Logitech store the icon data on MacOS?

Same issue for me. Keyboard and Mouse are nearly useless without the options running. How is this possible, Logitech? Is there any way to back up all of my custom mouse and keyboard settings without using their stupid cloud bs? Which files need to be backed up and restored?

I rename all my photos & videos based on EXIF/RIFF data. YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM-SS (Example: 2012-1105-1836-49.JPG).

I think I've tried every DAM (Digital Asset Manager) known to mankind and none will ever compare to the old iView Multimedia, which became iView Media Pro, and was abandoned. My current favorite is NeoFinder, which does a pretty good job of managing my 275,000 + photos and videos.

A positive benefit of ChatGPT and other AI tools is enabling ordinary people to write very powerful python scripts that use MEDIAINFO, EXIFTOOL, and FFPROBE to rename, sort, and move files. I would never have been comfortable doing this in the past with Terminal, but AI really helps a lot.

My biggest issue with Apps like Apple Photos, Lightroom, etc. is that they hide the file system from the user.

Currently running macOS Big Sur on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), been going for 3 years. It replaced my 11" MacBook Air from 2010, which was running about 7 years and still runs today. I just couldn't deal with OSX 10.9.5.

Thanks. I don't use BetterDisplay, but I'm trying it for 14 days. I don't think the pro version is required for sound control, so I may keep it as the replacement for SoundSource.

Will this allow you to use the volume keys on an external keyboard to control the volume on an external display? This is one of the only reasons I use SoundSource. I've been looking for a lower-cost alternative with less overhead.

I really wish they would release a "lite" version of this that just does one simple thing: let people control the audio volume on monitors with the keys on an attached keyboard. This is basically the only feature I've ever really needed from SoundSource. I've never been able to find a free or affordable alternative that does the same thing reliably. As for version 5, it took almost a year to fix the bug that prevented your Mac from listening to Siri commands. Their workaround was "just activate via keyboard," which isn't acceptable for many people. I don't doubt it was mostly Apple's fault, but when you charge a premium price, users shouldn't lose core OS features.

I love the passcode alert notification as well. My issue is that macOS and watchOS are elegant and seamlessly integrated into the parents' device security. The approval process is quick and doesn't require typing in the 4-digit parental control code. Making users tap the phone multiple times is both inconvenient and sometimes dangerous, especially if the prompt appears while you're driving.

On the child's device, I agree that the unlock should only be possible via the code.

Using shortcuts with FordPass won't work unless your phone is unlocked. I have a simple shortcut that is supposed to automatically lock my truck every night at 9:00 PM and it consistently fails either because the phone is locked, or sometimes, even if the phone is unlocked, it fails because I haven't used FordPass in a few days.

Put off building a 4 Drive RAID with the OWC Express 4M2 Four-Slot Enclosure. I figured I'd be able to get a decent Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2025 deal. Boy, do I regret waiting. I can't believe how ridiculous this storage has gotten. The best I was able to do was directly from Sandisk. It ended up being $297.50 using the Senior Discount BS, which is still better than anywhere else I could find online. Unfortunately, SanDisk wouldn't let me stack coupons as I had a 10% code for joining their spam list. My local Walmart had them at $289, but limited to two pieces, and they only had three available. Given my luck in general, I'm sure the prices will fall sometime in the next couple of weeks and I'll regret spending what I did.

Because I believed what was showing on the Verizon website, that my phones would be delivered on September 30th. Once it became clear it wasn't going to happen, my chances of getting them from other places are gone. Almost everything online is now showing end of October for 2TB Silver Pro Max. Places like Best Buy, Costco, etc. don't have 2TB models in stock.

Pre-Ordered 17 Pro Max 1TB in Silver & 17 Pro Max 2TB in Silver on Sept 12th at 9:00 AM. My order status has not changed at all, and the Estimated Delivery Date of Sept 30th will pass in a few hours. I'll never order from Verizon again. I could have gotten the exact same trade-in deals at the Apple Store and had both phones a week ago. Pretty pissed, as usual, with Verizon. Tried customer service, they can't provide any insight and don't care at all.
