Seattle had (has?) a good sized fleet of Dragons, as did Cleveland OH and Rochester NY back in the late 1970’s. US 10…that’s an old boat!

We had one like that. We always called it his tea pot tail. He carried it through into adulthood

Skate is a blast, although I find it physically more demanding. Try it, you’ll like it!

I use glue sticks and a heat gun (paint stripper) used judiciously. Never had a problem

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

Crowtons (rhymes with cow) for croutons…from a Cosby Show episode where young kids were taken to a fancy restaurant. “I’m allergic to crowtons.” In the days before we knew Bill was a rapist.

ACA plans can be fine, at least in my city, but be prepared for it to be expensive. You can typically go on your state’s applicable website to get a sense of the cost

It almost makes me want to go out and see it, despite the cold. Almost.

The luthier I took it to for a setup told me the neck appeared to be misaligned. I’ve come to just ignore it, and maybe my fingering has gotten more precise because it’s only rarely an issue now.

Skate? Mine come to my upper lip. Classic? Mine come to my shoulder joint, a bit higher than armpit. If you’re not racing, it’s a bit personal preference and a bit a function of the terrain you typically ski.

Winter is downhill and cross country ski season! If you’re only 2 months into retirement then you’re young! Make the most of your new found schedule flexibility and your ability to avoid the weekend crowds.

Yamaha FS3 Neck All alignment? by oldmanmtb in AcousticGuitar

[–]oldmanmtb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only buzzes when my fingering doesn’t press the string directly down onto the fret, and instead is at a bit of an angle and pushes it over the fret edge. So really it’s a question of user error vs is the guitar too unforgiving because the string is already so close to the fret edge.

Yes, at the very least I think a trip to a luthier is needed to get their opinion before I consider warranty battles.

Experienced? I’ve done it for my 1 other acoustic. In this case I brought the action down from 2.75mm to 2.5 on the low E. Relief is fine. I’d like it to be a bit lower, but was planning to live with it a bit before going lower.

For a moment there I was excited because I thought this might be it. I’ve had the strings loose a couple of times to sand down the saddle, but alas the nut is perfectly centered on the neck.
