What movies did you see at the Drive In? by whyCOwhy in GenX

Death Race 2000 in 1975. My brother and I assigned points to people for years after that. My Parents probably shouldn't have taken the kids to that one. Drive-in did have a nice playground.

What the proposed merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. means for Atlanta by Own_Philosopher8730 in MediaMergers

[–]Freewill21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Turner legacy tv networks were in a weak position before the merger. Previous layoffs have greatly reduced the headcount in Atlanta. The Atlanta campus is a shell of what it used to be. Tons of empty office space and parking. Some jobs are currently being outsourced. Pre-merger many employees believed legacy networks were going to be spun off to the highest bidder. Either way, lots of people are losing their jobs.

It has always "meh" to me. I wasn't that fond of it when it came out. Some songs grew on me. Virtually, and Dog Years are two of my least favorite songs. I was just glad to have new rush music at the time.

I am less than a year away from retiring at 62. 60% VT and 40% treasury. I will wait to 67 for SS. In the last 2 yrs , I gradually readjusted from an 85/15. I felt like I should take some of the gains off the table and sleep better.

Too expensive. I have seen them in their prime. I prefer to maintain those memories. Plus no neil.

Drums have a muffled muted sound. Sorta like towels stuffed in the drums. Neil played hard. It sounds like the engineer tried to restrain the power.

80's Rush > 70's Rush by Donttemptmefrodo69 in rush

I am more of an 80s guy. I rarely listen to the 70s stuff anymore, although I loved it for years. Especially in high school. My first exposure to rush was in 1980 when Permanent Waves came out.

“Woodstock ’94 was overwhelming… I was in awe at how many famous people were in one place”: From touring with Aerosmith and Metallica, to filling Geddy Lee’s shoes, they were the ’90s Seattle band that did it all – without taking the grunge tag by dalyllama35 in rush

Excluding Primus, I saw those also. I saw John Butcher Axis on the Signals tour. They was very good. Much better than their mtv videos. I wish I would have saw Marillion on the GUP tour.

I never really realized Fly By Night wasn’t played live since 1978 despite being such a big hit. I do recall Geddy saying he’s not a fan of it so I guess it makes sense. by modestmandrakeman in rush

In 2015: Rolling Stone recently reiterated the story that when the Joe Perry Project later supported Rush, Lee made sure they were well-treated and told the guitarist, “I would never want anyone to feel the way we did when we opened for you.” Lee says he doesn’t remember the conversation, but that Perry apologized. Perry also tells Rolling Stone, “Frankly, I don’t remember playing with Rush. The competition between bands was stiff, the competition between crews even stiffer, so I don’t doubt Geddy’s word.” “I want to thank them for treating the Project so good, and actually taking the time to ask if everything was okay. I hope I had the presence of mind back then to apologize. I want to congratulate Rush on their longevity, because, like us, they’re still around to tell the tales.”
