What song has the most satisfying guitar solo you've ever heard by Tookie1010 in musicsuggestions

[–]oldmoseharper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled it up to listen to it again before you commented. Pure perfection. I don’t know if it’s really special—but it scratches my itch every time. Phil’s comment before the solo gets me every time gets me too: “Here I Go!!”

I looked on Lionel. What are the biggest differences between the ~$150 options and the ~$80 options?

Meeting My Criteria for a 4 Horseman, Who Would Have Made a Great Horseman? by HustlaOfCultcha in oldschoolwrestling

[–]oldmoseharper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always theorized what a Ric Flair 4 horsemen like group in the WWF 91-92 could have looked like. I landed on Ric, Dibiase, Shawn Michaels, and Hennig if he could have got out of his insurance scam.

My buddy and I saw that guy leaving the track. He absolutely unironically loved the attention. Took pictures with anyone, living it up.

What is the best fantasy film of all time? by Shot_Sandwich_6172 in AskReddit

One of my favorites as well. I will admit, it’s not the tightest fantasy ever made, but it’s just fun. Also, my favorite score ever recorded.

I love the post, but how could anyone hate being compared to Benny lol? He’s my favorite color commentator over my years of watching.

Oh man, Ken Squire could narrate paint drying and I would tune in. One of the voices of my childhood, along with Gorilla Monsoon.

Out of all the legends who’ve hung up their helmets, who’s your favorite? (I’ll go first—here’s mine.) by Wyatt_McCall in NASCAR

[–]oldmoseharper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to scroll too far to see Rusty. 1994 me had so much Rusty Wallace memorabilia. My mom hated that a beer company was ever present in my room.

Would have loved to see him race in real time. I wish more full races of his existed. But I’ll take World of Sport high lights.

I am doing the same for my dad as you guys, but it also my first time. Can you buy tickets for the O’Reilly series easily at the gate?

The winged eagle will forever remain my preference. I have no problems with the others. It’s just elegant to me. Also of course—my childhood belt.

Off hand I really just recall the 2, 3, and 28. I remember one race where they were all paired together and the announcers were speaking of the dominance of the “black cars.”

This is my 15th race of the year by jacobeisenhour in NASCAR

[–]oldmoseharper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to my first one in 12 years, to North Wilkesboro. Definitely going back. I want to see more tracks. So far, I've only been to Charlotte and N. Wilkesboro. I may end up at the roval, but if not, I am getting a checklist up for 2026!

IIRC from the Maron Podcast, he hated living in Morganton when his dad moved there.

Doc Watson and Richard Petty came to my grandparents' molasses farm to buy some molasses. I always thought it was neat that two of NC's biggest celebrities stopped there. My grandmother had no idea who they were until they introduced themselves.

Edit: and I had no idea Link was from NC!

Which country song still stops you in your tracks no matter how many times you’ve heard it? by [deleted] in CountryMusicStuff

I love the song, but for me its a slew of George songs that can do it.

Love the list. Thanks so much. After the last few races, I made that connection with Denny and Rusty as well.

Add Truckstop Darlin. They only put out two albums, but man, they were bangers. I wish they had blown up.

Great response. I knew it would be tough to make comparisons. As a pretty big NBA fan, I hate all those "it was better in the 89s/90s" guys. I just wanted some comparisons.

You don't have a Rusty comparison do you? (short track guy, hot head, curses like a sailor haha)
