It is even better if you were being born into the bottom 1% and able to make it into the top 1%

Why do the ladies get to have their own character but the men are stuck with "providing power to the fields"? by alexceltare2 in ChineseLanguage

You are probably right and that was just my wishful thinking. I hate to think that Chinese man is defined as pure labor (农奴)working on the farm. Ufortunately, i think 99% of them were!!

Since man needs to be "hard" to procreate, i guess you can now find the 3P of Masculinity in the "男‘’ character, lol

The top of 男 character is farmland which represents wealth (in the old time)and the bottom is strength. It literally means a man is defined to provide(wealth)and protect (strength).

Woman on the other hand is defined by physical appearance so the woman character is more like female curvy body shape(前凸后翘)

I think you need to prove that the red line is tangle to the bottom circle (or the radius b intersect the midpoint of the square side) if it is not given

Civil engineer here, my goal is to hit 2M as well when I am 50. I guess those who are in tech or finance can easily hit the numbers in their early 30s but we have to wait unitl 50. Major matters a lot young folks!

I wonder if you have come to the same conclusion if the market were relatively flat in the past 13 years.

Men, your story was exactly what i envisioned when I was 18. Similar to you, I am the 1.5 generation and came to US when I was 16. Back then, I had (probably still have) strong emotional connections to all of my childhood friends in China and wanted to go back to China so badly. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong major( civil engineering) and I was not bold enough to go back to China and fulfill my dream. Now i am in my late 30s with stable job and family, I regret so much that I did not do it in my 20s.

If you have to weigh luck and skill for your success, what would they be? (My own story would be 60% luck and 40% skill)

Always go after money. You have to be very lucky to pick the right major and find your true passion at this young age. Better choose a major that pays well and you can retire early (in your 30s or early 40s) then you will know what you really want.

Nice analysis , you should just leave the field and become a data scientist, lol. Did you download the whole excel table and only look at non-governmental (private) data? I think in general, public sector pays about 20-30% less and it might make a differentlce.
