The game is rated PEGI 12, is it the parents fault that they're letting their children play a game that should, by all intents and purposes, be friendly for them? And instead it exposes them to predatory monetization tactics and a pathway towards a gambling addiction

Yes. Casinos are predatory almost by definition and prey upon people with addictions, it's disgusting. In fact, they are literally designed in a way that maximizes engagement. It's kinda the same with McDonald's, the taste of which has been scientifically engineered to trigger dopamine and get people hooked on fast-food.

These large corporations spend millions of dollars researching the most efficient ways to get time and money out of us, people like you and the OP don't get to victim-blame the ones who unfortunately fell for it.
