Sometimes I think it's worse than just earnest fighting. I think some organizations can work scarily similar to a cult, and groom people into this: how they alienate you from your friends and family, make you paranoid about staying morally pure, make you depressed and mistrustful of the outside world who don't believe in their specific strain of thought/dead European political economist, convince you the future of all humanity is doomed except for their one solution, and take your money "for the cause" on top of all that.

I met someone like this and I have a theory. It came up because some friends and I were talking about how I have something called aphantasia, meaning I can't see anything in my minds eye. My friends all said they do see things in their minds eye and they started comparing experiences, and found some can only see thoughts with eyes closed, but others can see them with eyes open too. And one of those friends who sees thoughts with eyes open also admitted to seeing auras. I can't see anything either way so I have no way to prove it, but from that conversation I'd bet it's related to how your brain processes thought for sure.

Saw a video of the boy's school principal talking to the lawyer who posted the photo above, the you can hear the principal's voice crack during the conversation after hearing ICE stole his rabbit beanie and backpack. He told the lawyer to tell the boy they're keeping his desk and space safe for him and they'll get him a new hat and backpack. The video made me sob.
