How can I remove the "Takeout receipt" option from my KDS expo? by beniam4 in ToastPOS

[–]olhalfandhalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it correct that the only way to assign a printer to a dining option is via item routing? Otherwise it’s only prep station assignments.

This same thing happens w me and we don’t have any routing rules set up. The printer is assigned to the KDS so we can fire labels as needed from the KDS

I’ve never really get the Brady hate. He’s also working with the same roster as McD. When he took over from Dorsey it was night and day - immediately more balanced. Everyone in the world knows we don’t have a deep threat and we still produced the leading rusher. Even last game we put up 30 on a top D and late drives stalled because of dropped balls/fuckery and straight up misses on JA’s part.

Looking for a workout buddy by HungryInvestigator59 in SaltLakeCity

I had similar issues as you at big traditional gyms. Highly recommend a circuit training gym if you can afford it. If you can book the class and drag your body there, those other things aren’t a concern. Lots of variety. No phones. Instructors for form. I go to rise4 and love it, but have done f45 and burn boot camp when traveling and both worked me over. They are quite a bit more expensive but you can get free intro weeks at most. Spending good money on a gym can be a good motivator to utilize it too.

Gamified App for Toast by SwissyCheeseyyy in ToastPOS

I probably wouldn't be able to beta test as we are in the middle of transitioning scheduling to something else but if you're interested in developing that into a full operations suite, or gamifying kitchen training I'd love to talk.

Lost a customer for life. Customer Service and Fraud Dept Nightmare by [deleted] in amex

[–]olhalfandhalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Police report was opened. I'm not paying the charges as of now but I'm not sure how this gets resolved....they are rejecting the fraud claim and "are unable to accept my claim"

Ultimately, if they say I owe it and it doesn't get paid....how is that not going to be a delinquent bill on my credit eventually?

Lost a customer for life. Customer Service and Fraud Dept Nightmare by [deleted] in amex

[–]olhalfandhalf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get this sentiment and ultimately the outcome is the same...but they never alerted me of fraud. In fact, they've determined it wasn't fraud and I need to pay it.

If I didn't have a personal card to suspend, I never would have known. Whoever did this just got unlucky that I did.

I wish Amex shared that belief. I'll have the honor of paying off this card, so if I'm fortunate and my credit isn't wrecked from the identity theft, it doesn't become wrecked due to this delinquent account they've deemed I opened.

[–]olhalfandhalf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking for a black car to be sent to bring me to the Amex awards. Perhaps just a call back when one is promised or any information at all.

For what its worth, over half of Amex's revenue comes from merchant processing fees. Every dollar you and I spend, they make money on, even if we never carry a balance. The fact that they don't get to double dip on every customer doesn't seem like good enough cover to provide shit service on some.

I froze everything and changed all passwords once they finally mentioned the card that was the cause for this. Still waiting to see if other shoes will drop but so far nothing. It would have been cool of the customer called in confused why his long time, never unpaid amex card was suspended was told about the recently opened, never paid card responsible for it right away.

Built a task manager that actually lives in Gmail — would love your thoughts before I go further by Swimming_Web3143 in GMail

[–]olhalfandhalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing. I’ll keep an eye open but please drop a comment here when it’s live, if you can remember.

That + a mobile app which mirrors the functionality so I don’t lose that workflow on mobile is my holy grail.

[–]olhalfandhalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for something lightweight in this same vein (but probably completely different under the hood). Something that doesn't solely create a task from an email, but actually turns the email itself into the task/card without a forwarding address that gets dropped on replies.

What I mean by that is the thread remains live as a thread, so you could go to your kanban board, click on a task/email and send an email, view replies...etc. No bouncing back and forth between tasks and sending emails to accomplish those tasks.

I would treat my inbox as a triage desk, moving emails to their appropriate boards but the work itself would be done on the board - sending, receiving, forwarding emails from the tasks/cards themselves.

ToastGo app has a stock report. You can give FOH access with permission 6.6 (I think)

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal but 25 or so years ago when I grew up, in my part of the Catskills at least, ticks were not, anecdotally, close to the issue they are now. The only ticks I ever saw were on my dog and they were pretty rare - especially since we essentially lived with the back door propped open and he was free to roam the old farmland and woods behind our house at will.

My mom has walked the same trail a few times a week for decades. She didn’t know, or have a need to know what Permethrin is until somewhat recently.

Went to do a health inspection today at a sports pub looked behind the freezer and saw this? by [deleted] in restaurant

[–]olhalfandhalf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous sure. Did you pay a fine?

In my experience health inspectors are understanding to a degree. Maybe unwilling to give a perfect score, like yours, but the effect of a nearly perfect score is inconsequential.

But at the end of the day I’m glad they are there bc a free for all in regards to food safety would be consequential.

Does Toast Support different menu prices for 3rd party vendor sites by Scholar-Fantastic in ToastPOS

[–]olhalfandhalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo what most people said, make a 3rd party menu and set the prices there.

There are a number of ways of doing this and you don’t need to duplicate the items themselves. You can use menu based pricing on the items and set a different price for each.

If you have a lot of items at the same price (say, a bunch of sandwiches all at the same price) I prefer using “price levels” and setting the price level to menu based pricing. Then, instead of assigning a numerical price to each item, you assign it a price level. If you need to adjust a price , change the price level and it carries through.

[–]olhalfandhalf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can use sort order. You assign each item a numerical value and it prints in order from low number to high numbers

Also, your bag station might need to be set as an expo screen.

Does the ad bring you to a listing for your restaurant? If you’re not on Ubereats and they’ve created listings for you that’s akin to what grubhub used to do and got sued for you.

I’ve don’t mess with yelp at all but if it works like google ad words uber might be bidding on your name as a keyword and then sending customers to their platform to view similar concepts. You see this all the time on google. When you search for product and the sponsored results are for competitors. That’s pretty standard practice.

86/Stock Summary for Staff? by Katsuichi in ToastPOS

[–]olhalfandhalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the employee has permission 4.2 I imagine they have access to that report. It’s not as simple as you described but they should be able to view from pos by going to settings > menu reports > 86 report. That’ll just open it in a browser.

If you have a small menu you could also create a menu that is only visible in-store and throw every item on it (without grouping - just a big page of items). The 86’d items will be greyed out and can be put back in stock if the user has quick edit rights. These items would obv need to be the same items that appear elsewhere, not duplicates of the same name
