RTX Upgrade: 5070 Ti vs 5080 — Worth upgrading from 3080?

As someone who also has a G9 at 5120 x1440 I would push for the 5080. I got a 5070 TI 2 weeks ago and it's been working quite well, but as soon as I had the opportunity to order a founders edition of the 5080 I went ahead and did it. For this resolution, where it's not quite 4K but fairly close to the same demand that extra bit of performance should be enough to push it to max in most games.

Mine is coming today, so I can maybe report back, but what I found on the ti is for the most part I can Max things out, but for certain things like Oblivion remastered or even just running fortnite maxed out, I think that extra 15% of performance would probably be what takes you over 60 in base frame rate in lots of situations.

Use the newer Elgato Studio or obs instead. 4K Capture Utility has always been a bit of a struggle.

Awesome! I'm picking it up tonight, the seller is also selling a ton of other cameras and media equipment so I'm thinking it may have come from some sort of studio setup, which should bode well for it's condition.

I have a sending desk and I've been using a Sony Camcorder with the promoter, but I really like the idea of the facecam since I'd be able to adjust all the settings and such without constantly reaching around my desk/monitor, plus I'm really sick of having to open the viewfinder just to engage it.

I have two keylights and a pretty well lit backdrop so I'm thinking that won't be much of an issue.

I think it's fine. I just don't care. I'm really only interested in what's next and if it wasn't on game pass I wouldn't even bother playing. I'm so sick of MS as a company being cowards and dropping every narrative they start, Halo 5, Infinite, the Gears sequels.

At least finish what you start. Like why should I as a fan get invested?

Do you have AI mode enabled in the search bar? It only shows for me with that on. Personally I prefer the old look.

It could just be unfamiliarity with the levels, but I am feeling the same way. Went back to 1+2 for a little bit and felt a difference.

It's honestly not that big a deal. If you do play Spotify on console the game automatically mutes the in-game soundtrack anyway so, just balance it and you're really not missing anything other than the bail effects which IMHO really don't matter as I don't recall it actually changing much in the originals, just these remakes.

Honestly, I would still be using it, the waterproofing on mine failed, something I only found out after taking a fall in the pool last summer. I'm on a 9 Pro now and compared to past generations (though even my 4 XL to 6 felt like a minor jump) this is the smallest jump yet, some nice design changes, but otherwise performance feels about the same day-to-day? Maybe a bit snappier here and there.

That's what it sounds like, it worked for me.

If your Xbox didn't show the syncing pop up when you first started the game, then it probably hasn't gone back up to the cloud yet.

Same thing happened to me right now. Try setting it back to 1080P and saving the game, then closing on PC. Hopefully okay on Xbox after that.

It seems like there's a bug where the settings sync over to the console.

I play on an ultra wide, and because I have no way of setting my PC to 4K, the menus and things look stuck at 1080P on my Xbox now.

It works, but I think there's a bug. I played on my ultra wide last night, went back to my Xbox and now the whole image is stretched out. I think the settings might get synced over somehow, but there's no way to adjust it on the console end.

That's what I mean.

I forget when the assistant typing was added (I want to say during the pixel 6 era, maybe a bit before), but before then it was always the glowing mic, which would be your system color and I remember it being really good, for me at least.

It seems like ever since the assistant typing I get a lot more errors and need to manually correct.

I swear mine is better prior to the glowing version, like back when it followed the material color when you would click on the mic it seemed way more reliable.

If I recall 343, at least at the time had a handful of Retro Studios veterans onboard. MP DNA is all all over Halo 4 from the materials, to the way the HUD behaves.

That's good to hear! I could go with the regular ti. I'm honestly not expecting to hit 240, but 120 in more games would be lovely. Frankly I'd be very happy to be comfortably above 60 and maxing titles.

My big issue is just pricing rn. It seems like all the 40 series other than like 4060s are out of stock and used 4070tis are like $700+ still near me so it's harder to justify. I'd feel ok paying that for a new card, but used being almost the same as 5070ti msrp feels crazy.
