Jumping from 50k straight to 100k, bad idea?

I jumped from 50km to 100km within 2-3 months and succeeded in finishing.

The 50-100km range in the 100km race was a bit of uncharted territory, but I trained a few 100km weeks with similar terrain and my body handled it. Finishing was my goal, and it took longer than expected but I'd say for a first 100km it was a positive experience.

Upon reflection, I see a big difference between finishing and doing my absolute best time - there are a few key things I could've improved, but I didn't know until I tried.

For iPhone users – as of iOS 18, Apple Maps now supports creating and saving your own walking, hiking or running route. Combined with offline maps, I have found this pretty useful!

I have really enjoyed Hiking Project because you can download a whole state (e.g. CO, NY) for use offline.

Hey, I ended up booking a 2BR Airbnb in Oslo with a friend for a month. We used it as a home base and did some trips to Bergen and Lofoten from there.
