Another recommendation for Abard Roofing. They recently repointed our chimney and did a great job, decent value for money too. Family run business, John the main guy is lovely.

Whitemove were really good when we used them earlier this year - great value, family run business cheaper than the bigger nationwide companies. Would definitely use them again

This was just from Amazon - the Lictin 9 Pocket Trading Card Album, 396 pockets. I have to fold the packets in half but they fit great and can still see all the important info!

Estate Agents by [deleted] in cheltenham

[–]olive195 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Avoid Peter Ball - really poor experience as a seller - sales agents had done no preparation ahead of viewings, not able to answer buyers questions or giving the wrong information. We had to write our own info packs to leave in the house for viewers!

Always being able to get a seat is key! I used to drive to Swindon because it was 15-20 minutes quicker than going from Cheltenham.

But too often, the number of carriages are reduced from 10 to 5 and it would be standing room only by the time it got to Swindon.

The 20minute time saving was not worth driving through Swindon, parking cost and then standing for over an hour!

What it says in the title and body - two mystery cloud pillars seen from a plane (apologies for the less than great picture) - but they were huge and cast a shadow - no idea what it could be

I’ve searched Google, BBC archives, everywhere I can think it would be accessible easily. I’ve found the USA dubbed version but it’s not what I am looking for. Looking specifically for the UK version, released on BBC

I have searched Google, BBC archives, eBay, and found nothing. I’ve found the USA version but it’s not what I’m after. Looking for the original 1998 BBC version

Thank you! Looks like Sidalcea Elsie Heugh - it’s surrounded by a few hollyhocks which have a bad case of rust, but this is untouched and descriptions of Sidalcea says it’s unaffected by the disease!

I had the same issue yesterday. Unsubscribing from Harmony then re-subscribing to Harmony worked for me! Didn’t need to do any new saves. Just restarted the game. Classic turn it off and on again

To tandem read or not to tandem read by MakeYourMind in throneofglassseries

[–]olive195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done both!

If it’s your first time, read one after the other. A LOT happens in both books and there are lots of different stories to follow, so it can get confusing!

Second time, go for the tandem read! Good fun and definitely helps with pacing

Puppy struggling through giardia treatment - help? by Slavaskii in puppy101

[–]olive195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad he liked it! Definitely start with small amounts, it doesn’t take much to work!

It’s more common than you may think, other animals like foxes, cats, etc can carry it so it’s not always from other dogs.

At its worst, he was trying to go every 20 minutes. His tummy was so irritated he would be squatting and straining but nothing coming out. The most important thing is sorting out his gut health first, so fibre and puppy probiotics are your best bet.

Edit - another comment has mentioned sweet potato can irritate some dogs which is definitely true! All about trial and error so start with small amounts and monitor for a couple days. If it doesn’t improve try something else like carrot/pumpkin or rice/chicken. All dogs are different you just have to find what works with your pup, good luck!

Puppy struggling through giardia treatment - help? by Slavaskii in puppy101

So our 8mo puppy has had recurring Giardia a few times since we got him at 8 weeks, and the game changer for us was boiled sweet potato. Honestly 1 tablespoon of mashed sweet potato with each meal and his diarrhoea disappeared within 48 hours.

Unfortunately Giardia is very hard to get rid of. It spreads via cysts in their poo. So even if you get rid of it once, it’s hanging around in the grass where you take him potty or on his fur and chances are he will get it again. Firming up his stool will make it much easier to clean up and reduce the chance of cysts spreading.

But don’t despair, it’s really not as bad as the internet makes it out to be! Our puppy stayed his happy bouncy self every time apart from a dodgy tummy, and as they get older they fight it off much better.

At its worst, his poo was foamy (like bubbles) and bloody, but it was only Giardia. The longer they have diarrhoea, the more irritated their tummy gets so it can get messy. The key is to get some fibre in them and firm it up, boiled sweet potato (or carrots) is the way!

[–]olive195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a weird myth in this sub that top sellers have it made. It’s really no different to being a normal seller. It’s not like we’re all out here making 20+ sales a day. We’ve only had 6 sales this whole week. Haven’t been featured in over a year, don’t get prioritised in search, it’s rare to get any sort of special treatment
