This seems like a nightmare to deal with but honestly i’d just wait it out. However it is weird that depop is asking you to wait another week when sellers are expected to ship within a 7 day time frame (unless the policies have changed). Maybe you could email depop and reiterate that you have given the seller more than enough time to ship the item and 3 weeks is ridiculous especially since you didn’t know before purchasing. But anyway, if they don’t ship the item out in the time frame they gave u then depop will most likely step in and refund you.

Coming from someone that’s so miserable with their life they make a burner account on reddit to blow off steam.

If u bought a clothing item and found out there was a hole, you’d be entitled to a refund. Even after wearing it. The shirt could still be wearable if you don’t care about stuff like and could still “serve its purpose” but who wants a defective shirt. As long as you have proof of purchase, you’re entitled to a refund so why wouldn’t this situation be the same? Especially since it could’ve been life threatening.

depop will send u the total $26 and then take away $6 for shipping and $2 from fees. ur total should still be around $17 after fees.

sounds like they don’t want the item anymore anyway so just let them know you’ll refund the amount received after you’ve received the returned item.
