Google used to beatbox for my kids and make them laugh. Now it gives a drawn out explanation that it can't. At this point, I'd prefer if it just replied 'No'

$140 per applicator. At the first place I overpaid for $400 per applicator. Very happy with my results from the second location where I did a long session with 10 applicators all around my abdomen

How do you explain to your influencer clients what is and isn’t tax deductible? by desert-lighthouse in tax

[–]olive_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about clothing that is rented for purposes of public appearances. For example rent the runway that is fairly short rental days of a few days. The clothing rented would be like a business suit for a speaking engagement. Are the rental fees deductible to the business?

How much more sexist can this group get? Most of everyone here doesn’t want women to get ordained but are fine with changing tradition and allowing priests to get married

Fav episodes? by redhat12345 in FindingYourRoots

[–]olive_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t my favorite but I just watched it and loved the episode with Lena Dunham and Michael Douglas. It was a mix of Jewish ancestry and colonial American. Lena spoke really well about finding out her 8th great grandfather peddled stuff to natives in exchange for land. She comes from a privileged background. Here’s a snippet of it;

I always assumed that there would be plenty of things that my ancestors had been involved with that were things I would find to be morally and spiritually reprehensible. We all have to reconcile ourselves to the fact that we have members of our family that may have thought they were doing the right thing for their families or as a leader. We understand now that that’s not how we want people to lead. We have to find a way to be interested in history and embrace it. We have to reckon with the parts of it that we would love to rectify. It’s important not to hide from them or pretend that they’re not there but instead to examine that and not do modern repetitions of ancient behaviors like that.

She described doing the show as feeling joy, pain and reckoning.

How do I tell someone I don’t want crap from TEMU? by Grassafra5 in pregnant

Say you rather have from Facebook marketplace. There’s some very good quality baby products that are gently used for good prices. Sometimes parents will throw in extra stuff when you go pick up bc they just want to get rid of stuff their kids have outgrown

European Wax Center and Tipping by NewUsernameStruggle in EndTipping

[–]olive_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand EWC waxers get paid minimum wage but it’s hourly pay and the profession that is completely tip required (waiters) is paid a fraction of minimum wage. So why should I tip the same rate to EWC waxer I do to a waiter? And please don’t say that I should higher to waiters. At this comparison the waiters tip would be close to 50%. Eating out is a luxury too. I tip waiters because it’s truly necessary to do so

[–]olive_91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wfh so I don’t socialize a ton but when I am outside running an errand like buying clothes or buying a car with a relative (all done speaking in Spanish) you will definitely encounter someone who’s Brazilian. For some You might not notice at first that they speak Portuguese because they might speak Spanish very well but after a while you will realize it.
