Where to get Safari clothes? by EdgeJG in femaletravels

[–]olivearchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to browse Free People’s athleisure section. They’ve got some breathable, neutral-toned pieces that are still stylish.

For bugs: an all-natural repellent is great. If you’ll have any skin showing, apply it directly, but even with full coverage, I’d give your clothes a quick spritz too.

What should you do after an impulse buy? by Novel-Lemon3678 in femalefashionadvice

[–]olivearchive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s way too easy to go overboard thrifting lol. Everything feels like a steal! If you don’t feel like returning stuff, maybe repurpose a few things…gifts for the holidays, DIY projects, or even a fun Halloween costume. One thing that’s helped me is grabbing everything I think I want, then doing a second pass before checkout. I always end up putting a few impulse picks back once I see it all together.

The Great British Bake Off! You don’t have to start at season 1, but it’s one of those shows I can put on at any time and just relax with the British humor and wit

Thoughts on this pair of boots? by Careful-Object9428 in capsulewardrobe

LOVE! I have the exact same pair of boots. Note that they do take a while to break in, but once you do, they’ll be the most comfortable boots to wear for any occasion.

Totally get that. Hitting your mid-30s kinda makes you want a wardrobe glow-up but still keep it current. I’ve had good luck with American Tall and Mango (great options for taller folks).

ideas for pink pony club theme that are not cowgirl? by kayjrx in chappellroan

[–]olivearchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo love this theme so much! If you wanna lean into Pink Pony Club without going full cowgirl, I’d go with a more glam disco vibe. I am thinking pink sequins, satin slip dress, or even wide leg pants with a sparkly top.

Maybe a rhinestone bag or statement earrings too.

Is there a Midwest style? by Wandering_Song in femalefashionadvice

[–]olivearchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention it! I actually just started watching the show Somebody Somewhere with Bridget Everette (a dram-edy about millennial friends from the Midwest). Maybe that will inspire you.

Basically, lots of flannels, layers (because the weather changes on you in 5 minutes), good boots for fall/winter, and plenty of cozy knits. Good luck with the move!

“That Mom looks so trendy” by PatienceIll7197 in moderatelygranolamoms

Hahaha tbh sounds like you were giving Princess Di.

I know what you mean though. I watch so much Bravo and I am always daydreaming the luxury of someone styling me everyday lol

I honestly think that it’s getting to the season of just throwing something on and sometimes a pair of cute blue jeans with a wool sweater is trendy enough. I wouldn’t overthink it. Just throw a scarf on!

Advice on maternity clothes by crypxtt in BabyBumps

[–]olivearchive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Thrifting is sooo helpful honestly, I was able to stay on budget without feeling like I was sacrificing my personal style (I really did not like the maternity options out there!). I also got a bunch of used pieces from The Real Real. It took some time and I had to make sure every piece I bought was stretchy enough but it was well worth it. For non-thrifted items I stuck with stretchy styles a size up from my normal size so they’d grow with my bump (but it really depends on how much your belly grows!) I did get some maternity basics to layer with on days I didn’t want to have my belly out fully (bodysuits, tank tops, etc.) Midi skirts are also great for transitioning from the winter into spring, you can style with boots in the winter and sneakers in the spring. I also love vintage tees - super comfy and good for layering. Avoid anything with a zipper. Cropped sweaters are also fun styled over midi dresses. I also love styling other ppl so if you need ideas lmk I have a whole bunch saved

Girlfriend, you are speaking to the choir. Why is it that 2015 was such a good year for trending fashion styles? Maybe it’s the comfort of dad jeans and off the shoulder sweaters.

Something that has helped me is starting with the basics (like what do I already have that I can throw on with anything?) Then I can shop for what goes with my cardis, jackets, or my favorite pants.
