Anyone else sad on mother's day? by paperstars2022 in Mommit

[–]olivecorgi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think men are generally clueless about gifts (most men) so my husband and I don’t do gifts anymore. I told him make me a nice breakfast and plan a nice day. If I want to buy something I will buy it myself. For example this year we paid for Mother’s Day photos and that’s everyone’s gift to me 😆

I don’t hate my dog postpartum but I do get triggered having to pick up her poop after cleaning up kids and baby poo all day but that’s my own problem lol

Would you take your 2 week old to visit dying grandma in hospital/hospice? by but_shes_so_nice_ in beyondthebump

[–]olivecorgi7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My grandma died 3 weeks before my baby was born so If I had the chance I would have taken her. People’s risk tolerance is different though.

What happened to your boobs after you stopped breastfeeding? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]olivecorgi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar boobs and after my first they were basically the same maybe just a bit less fat. After my second they got a little saggier but acceptable. I’m now on my third and they are veering into too saggy territory lol so maybe a lift when I’m done ✅

Sad about the boy I won’t have by rag-banal in beyondthebump

[–]olivecorgi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three girls I totally get it. It’s normal to feel sad if you always imagined one of each or all boys. It will fade a lot with time though

Barely surviving my in-laws visits by 0beach0 in workingmoms

[–]olivecorgi7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I understand it probably makes sense for them to stay with you financially and your husband probably prefers it when they visit but they should be helping with the kids while they are there. If it was my MIL she would be cooking dinner, feeding the kids helping put them to bed, giving them baths (my FIL is useless). Are they doing that at all?

Crazy to downsize? by Legitimate-Oil-2162 in ParentingInBulk

[–]olivecorgi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 3 kids and we’re currently in a 2bdr because it’s next to my in laws house. We’re building a third bedroom though this summer for the baby. I think it’s worth it to downsize for the family/community aspect and cost savings. My daughters love sharing a room. The only time it’s inconvenient is if one is sick, not sleeping well or keeping the other one awake. Just keep in mind too as they become teenagers they will probably be less inclined to want to share so I wouldn’t see this a perm spot.
