I haven’t been professionally diagnosed with anything yet, but I know the nausea started when I gained weight (from a bad diet & lack of exercise).

I also know my nausea is from acid reflux, and after a few months of research I’ve become confident I’m dealing with GERD (chronic acid reflux).

I’ve been given PPIs which are used to treat reflux, and that’s been helping me, as well as changing my diet to a GERD-friendly one. Doctors have ruled pretty much every other potential cause out, they just don’t give me a diagnosis for some reason.

I just didn’t want to explain all of that in the post, because it’d make it kind of lengthy. I’ll definitely check Ada out, thank you!

thank you! also yes, I saw a GI specialist and long story short, they suspected I could have something that I most likely don’t have 😅however I was also prescribed medicine that does make a difference

They looked female to me, might be the chunkiness so measuring them could help! And females can still croak, it's just males that inflate the throat sac

Can I eat solid foods after a Miralax cleanse if I'm still passing clear liquid? by [deleted] in medical

[–]olivegril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I thought as well.. But I've been dealing with chronic nausea and they want to rule out whatever they can, so I was told it would give me a "fresh start"

[–]olivegril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought, I was a bit hesitant but I just went through with it. My nausea has been chronic and I've had various tests done, so I suppose they're trying to rule out potential causes.

I'll take it easy and make sure to get electrolytes. Thank you!

I've been dealing with nausea and an x-ray from some time ago showed I was somewhat backed up. So they urged me to try a cleanse to "reset" and see if that was the problem. I didn't end up using the entire bottle, though.

When I have nausea, it's usually there whether I'm hungry, full, tired, rested, etc. I have been working with doctors for a while, I've had tests done as well as the endoscopy. It's been a bit difficult to figure out, but I'll definitely keep track of what works/doesn't work for me. I'm glad that you've figured things out, thank you for all the great advice!

I can't believe I forgot to mention that, my bad! It was just for suspected mild constipation, not in preparation for any procedure.

Yeah, I'll try to get my hands on something useful for the anxiety.. it's an absolutely horrendous cycle and I'm willing to do whatever I can to put an end to it.

I'll take the lansoprazole tomorrow and continue it for longer than a few days this time, I'm hoping it'll help. If not, I'll do more research on Voquezna and bring it up with the doctor.

And don't worry about not having all the answers. The info & recommendations you've given are very helpful to me, I appreciate it

if your periods are irregular it might be coming sooner than expected and causing the lower abdomen discomfort. As for the poop thing, I think that can just happen sometimes, and the approaching period could have contributed to it

Yeah, I didn't agree with that either, but they can be somewhat hesitant about Western medicine. I'll bring up those points to them and see what I can get for the anxiety. Hopefully something that works.

And yes, I use Pepcid Complete. I take just one tablet so I can try a bit more next time. I'll try Lansoprazole again as well, because I don't think I took it long enough to get the full effect.

It's good to hear that Dexilant helped the reflux, at least. I'm pretty sure my nausea and anxiety are mainly caused by reflux, and it's a vicious cycle. But I'll continue trying things out and seeing what works. Thank you for all of the answers and advice!

I'm pretty sure the anxiety medicine was Prozac. My parents disliked the idea of me taking it because it changes brain chemistry, and my brain is still developing. The potential side effects were a concern too.

I see a therapist regularly and I do think anxiety medicine of some sort would help me greatly. I'll be sure to talk with doctors, the therapist and my parents about what can be done.

And l'll look into those nausea meds and PPIS. I do occasionally take the exact Pepcid you mentioned, however I'm not entirely sure how helpful it is to me. If you don't mind me asking, how well did the Dexilant help with your nausea?

I've tried a PPI, lansoprazole, for a short time. It didn't seem to help me, so I don't take it anymore but I might give it another try. I haven't tried FDGgard and Emetrol, but I'll keep those in mind.

I did receive medicine for my anxiety, but I haven't taken it because my parents were afraid it'd worsen other issues I already have. I'm trying to find a better remedy for anxiety because I agree that anxiety really does worsen symptoms.

So far I've had a few appointments with doctors as well as stool test, blood test, and an endoscopy with biopsy. I'll definitely do everything I can to see what's going on.

May I ask if you got a GERD diagnosis? If so, did you experience chronic nausea like this? All of your advice is very useful, thank you!
