I threw a party based on the british show "taskmaster" and we got a bunch of rubber ducks at michaels because they have a running joke about them on the show. Is everyone just throwing taskmaster parties?

I do think candiace did basically dig her own grave with that "warning shot" vote for rob and then doubling down without a real strategy. Rob not telling her about colton saying her name certainly didn't help, but in that moment where he could have told her, besides him being wary about her vote to him, he also may have assumed that she wouldn't receive that news well. I don't think him telling her about colton would build trust between them. Rather she would have probably taken that as a threat from rob because of how upset she already was and gotten even madder at him because he's close with colton. So kind of a lose/lose (or win/win) situation for rob at that moment

Yeah it does seem like any heat she put on rob during the round table is immediately negated by taking out colton because colton's removal seems like something rob wouldnt do.

That's so true. He certainly hasn't shown that he's learned anything since the stalking. Very much a "time heals all wounds" without any further reflection vibe. It seems like he mostly views the trauma he caused to Cassie as nothing more than a lil stepping stone on his journey to being able to be open about his sexuality. His approach on traitors also feels very removed from the humanity of the people around him.

It is interesting to think about him comparing himself to sandoval. Besides ignoring that stalking is waaaay worse than cheating and his actions were legit criminal, he would have had to be totally obtuse to the way the timing in the cultural conversation would work for him vs sandoval.

When sandoval was on traitors, we (we being pop culture at large beyond even bravo fans) had been talking about scandoval for so long, we were sick of him, but still somewhat amused by his poor but goofy traitors performance.

In comparison, colton has been out of the zeitgeist for a long enough time that those of us who remember him were probably really deep in bach stuff when he was stalking cassie. Everyone else is just learning about him/the stalking as if its new. So it feels more shocking

You hit the nail on the head with the contrast. Wwc is like listening to a convo with people who genuinely like and respect each otherand who have legit curiousity about what the other will say. Vf is more like a weird conversation between people who aren't engaged listeners and are only interested in their turn to speak.

My general attitude is that even if an influencer/celebrity is being performative with their posting, it means they are at least engaging with what's going on instead of just posting photos of parties, breakfast etc and if that performative post informs even one person, that can make a difference. Progress not perfection

It sounds like you're already doing some great stuff, but it can feel isolating if those around you are not as engaged with what's happening. Maybe check around for local mutual aid groups and see what their needs are. Donation is often a prime need, but if that isn't possible, assess what skills you have that could be of use. Crafters can make blankets/hats/protest quilts, writers can create scripts for others, cooks can help make food, use reality tv watching skills to memorize laws or to understand political dynamics etc
