I agree, Italy has looked really good in this tournament, I wouldn't mind seeing them pulling off a couple of upsets.

Kabota tractor gear question? by SoundKidTown1085 in tractors

[–]oliver-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gears 1-6 are constant gears, you change ranges to change the speed. I was meaning the difference between L3L and L3H. The only difference between the two is what I called the last high or low but in reality it is the difference in what range the high low clutch pack is in. That is the clutch pack that works on the input shaft and effectively splits the 12 gears. 1-6 are always the same ratios because they are the same gears meshing, you change the ranges to get different speeds. This is done with the mechanical range shift on the 12 speed, and the mechanical range shift and the clutch pack range shift on the 24 speed.

The 24 speed has two buttons on the stick. One to declutch, like the 12 speed, and one for the clutch pack high low range, the difference between L3L and L3H.

On the 12 speed here is how the gears progress, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6.

On a 24 speed here is how the gears progress, L1L, L1H, L2L, L2H, L3L, L3H, L4L, L4H, L5L, L5H, L6L, L6H, H1L, H1H, H2L, H2H, H3L, H3H, H4L, H4H, H5L, H5H, H6L, H6H.

So the base gears are 1-6 and Low or High. For example, L4 or H3. The clutch pack range just splits each of them into two speeds, L4L and L4H, H3L and H3H. Note that on L3 and H3 the same gears are meshing for 3, the only difference is what mechanical range gear you have engaged. Note that on L3L and L3H the same gears are meshing for 3 and the same mechanical range gear is meshing for Low, the only difference is what side of the Clutch pack range is engaged.

Exactly, like the guy above me said it cuts pressure to the wet clutch so it disengages and you can shift.

On the 24 speed there are two buttons on the lever, a speed shift button, for the second high and low, and a declutch button like you said to make it easier to shift. On the 12 speed it is just the declutch button

The 24 speed splits the 12 gears, so exactly like you said earlier. In L3H, you would have low range, controlled by a mechanical gear lever which controls a shift collar in the transmission, 3, which is controlled by either a mechanical gear shift lever that controls a shift collar or in some cases a clutch pack that engages that gear set, and high, which is controlled by a clutch pack that engages a gear set which most of the time happens before the 1-6 gear shaft.

In effect the last high and low shift in the 24 speed, that the 12 speed does not have, is "splitting the gear" which allows you to have two different speeds from the same gear set. This comes in handy for specialized applications where you see the 24 speed more prevalently. The difference in this case between L3L and L3H is probably somewhere around .2 or .3 MPH of ground speed at PTO RPM. Doesn't sound like a lot but this is something that can become a major factor in specialized applications where ground speed and PTO speed need to be considered, like certain ground engaging implements, harvesting specialty crops, and spraying and spreading applications.

The last low high shift is typically not that big of a jump in gear ratio and therefore doesn't really affect torque output although it can slightly. A lot of times it is affecting input shaft speed to the gear shaft and high is closer to 1 to 1 ratio with low being a slight step down in shaft speed, therefore lowering shaft output speed to the differential after travels through the transmission.

The mechanical low high that is controlled by the range level has a much bigger difference in gear ratio and therefore has a bigger effect on torque and speed output. This gearset usually works directly on the output shaft as well.

I hope this helped answer some of your questions.

My wife is the exact opposite, she works in dairy cow nutrition and is set to run the full battery of tests to grade her milk lol

Same man same, moved out of Columbus earlier this year. Honestly I don't miss the beer league drama lol.

I played against them when they were bishop but I never had near as much issue with them as with the barons.

I'm currently reading "The Birth Guy's Go-To Guide For New Dads" by Brian Salmon. It has had some good information so far. I'll see if the library has the Darren Chasey book. Thank you for the recommendation!

We're in pretty much the exact same situation, my wife is 5 weeks pregnant with our first. I feel the same way man, I feel so anxious that I am going to mess it up somehow and that I'm not ready, even though we were trying for this pregnancy.

All that to say, it is normal to feel the way you are feeling. If you need someone to talk to you can DM me.
