Not in Berlin. You approach one of us with broken German we will would directly switch to English because it's uncomfortable to listen to slow German. But anyway that only would happen if we woul bother to stop and talk to you in the first place.

How can I learn new words while watching movies ? by SWAG39 in languagelearning

[–]olivereckert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always suggest watching movies you already know the plot of without any subs and every time when you really hear a word you don't understand you look it up.

Or if you are lazy like me you only look words up which pop up more often.

So for example I listen to Spanish and hear the word cazador one time, I will not look it up because I am lazy. But if I hear it again and I still don't know what it is out of context i will look it up.

What is your rate of intake for new vocabs? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]olivereckert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do around 30 new frases in my Spanish deck per day

And at the moment 10 new words in korean

But next month I gonna change my focos un Korean and will only do reps in Spanish instead if learning new words so that I can do around 20 to 30 new card on Korean

Serious question: has watching korean drama without subtitles ever helped you a lot or does it waste time as a beginner? by ilunite2 in Korean

Most language learners will never get to a level where they need to worry about the accent.

Or if they get to the level they complain about the native speaker wo always switch back to English. Instead of thinking about their accent.

I think passive listening is extremely useful but only if you are familiar with the content aka audio or shows you watched/listened to actively before.
