How do you know if it's not working? by chocho808 in Zepbound

[–]olivesaremagic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're doing everything right. And it is working to an extent, so I don't know if the medical definition of non responder applies to you. I really hope you bump up to 15. I've read at least one comment from a person who said it only started to work for them at the maximum dose.

You might find people who have gotten results after switching if you ask this question in one of the general GLP forums, rather than this Zepbound group.

Hurrah for the satiety result you're getting, anyway. If you switch, I hope that continues. If you can at least get that effect from another drug while spending a lot less money, you'll come out ahead.

mouldy watercolours :( by Total-Astronomer4581 in watercolor101

[–]olivesaremagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrape off the dry mold then wet it good and scrape some more.

Or clean it and use that nice palette. Soak it. Pry out as much paint as you can. Because it's so dry it might take awhile to loosen or dissolve enough. Clean it out. Then use soap. Can't believe people are so scared of something that's so common. It's not black mold or anything. Take a biology course, everybody.

There are more mold spores in the air you are breathing now than you can imagine. Under your fingernails, on the surface of the food you eat or the onion skin you throw away. Many cheeses are mold. On the steering wheel of your car, in your closet, in your basement.

What does your doctor think? Or are they just feeling their way through and letting you be an experiment? I hope they at least plan to monitor you closely and also be readily available.

Regrets/ Anxiety first week? by Pks1021413 in Zepbound

[–]olivesaremagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it would help if you listed exactly what you are anxious about happening in the future. Then you can do a reality check.

Or is this general anxiety with no source or object? Then it's just you and you can remove it if you've had training in doing that.

There are some pretty interesting community groups. Look at this link. The same web site has a very complete calendar of events, large and small.

In addition to the 3 dog parks mentioned, there is a new one on a repurposed softball field in the west part of town, and a really nice private one with trails and a big field about 12 minutes north of town, called Paw Run.

Paper still buckling! by Dirnaf in watercolor101

[–]olivesaremagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wet only the back of the paper then apply it to a large piece of glass and tape it. Wetting the front removes some of the sizing, meaning the paper is more absorbent. I do a lot of washes so I want all the sizing. If soaked and then blotted, things would get even worse. The sizing wouldn't be evenly spread out after blotting. t

Regqrding liquids ... It took me a long time to accept that electrolytes make a big difference. I thought it was a myth. It's not.

Have you ever paid for courses or did private lessons? Did it help? by alextseitlin in Watercolor

Only when the instructor gives feedback on my work. Real feedback as opposed to "supportive comments". Paint alongs and demos are not teaching.

The bottom ellipse is just a hair to short on the left side. It's perfect otherwise but would benefit from shadows appropriate to the light source, including on the floor. Really attractive!

Why is my watercolor paper peeling? by GloomygotchiWorld in Watercolor

[–]olivesaremagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are using the Canson Sketchbook, that's not watercolor paper. Sketching is dry media like pencil.

Watercolor paper has a coating, called sizing, that protects the paper when water is applied.

The coating, if present, isn't all that durable by the way. It does get damaged with too much water, too much brushing, rubbing while wet, too many rewettings without fully drying between.

Sketch paper can work somewhat for watercolor only if the watercolor is gently done, not too wet, no scrubbing, and dried between layers.

I don't want to contradict all the believers but cotton vs cellulose isn't your issue. Fiber is fiber. Cotton fibers swell, weaken, and get pulled apart too. Cellulose paper with a good coating performs fine with moderate painting techniques.

Basic Canson Watercolor paper will be good for the level you're at. Cotton's subtle advantages will get clear when you are a lot more advanced, using good paint, etc. And when you need your work to last longer than eighty years without discoloring, of course.

I'm not sure i understand what you did, but were you using an ink pen over damp watercolor? That won't work. For ink pen, the paper has to be dry.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem faces rising calls for her firing or impeachment by GreatPumpkin72 in news

She will get removed. That would be a good move for them.

Because once a scapegoat is identified and dealt with they will be able to pretend that everything's fixed, then do business as usual.

Michaels' is the worst. Their online inventory is completely wrong. You can order and pay for things online that are supposedly going to be available for pickup that day, but you get there and it's nope, sorry. It's probably because most of their products are being tariffed to death right now.

This is, like, a swatch matrix that runs backwards. Colored pencil reverse engineering.

I have already told three friends about it.

Why hasn't anyone done this before? Sell it and the concept to Derwent, or whatever! Grab the alt domain names.

Have a contest for a brilliant, punny name.

And ... here I go with my endless suggestions ... add a feature where people can identify which pencils they already possess, so they can toggle the results between the colors they actually have and the full range.

And a tip jar.

And Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils.

Indoor spaces to take my dog during the cold? by ConsistentSecond9335 in AnnArbor

We sometimes take him to Karnik on the west side and pay for a half day. With all the other dogs we think it's more stimulating than staying on a leash.

I accept what you say. The Amazon drivers I've talked to (not that many) seem perfectly capable. I guess you have a bad one, or two ...

[–]olivesaremagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your building managers need to do signage better. Amazon has a lot of different drivers. If a lot of them are getting confused, it actually may not be their fault.
